Pothole Repairs

Throw-and-Go

Potholes are abundant during the spring and keep the crews busy trying to keep up with them. During the spring months moisture in the streets prevents us from permanently patching holes. We use a method called "throw-and-go" where cold mix asphalt is placed in the holes and compacted without any prep work. This allows us to keep the holes filled and prevents them from getting any bigger.

After the moisture is gone from the streets, hot mix asphalt is used and the holes are cut out square and permanently patched. The patching truck will be out in a different area each day to make sure the most severe holes are patched first.
