Junior Jazz Youth Basketball – Parents

Junior Jazz Basketball is for 3rd through 6th Grade boys and girls for the 2018 to 2019 school year. Age divisions include 3rd/4th Girls, 3rd/4th Boys, 5th/6th Girls, and 5th/6th Boys. This is a six week recreational league that begins the week of October 8 and ends the week of November 12. Register at the Green River Recreation Center. Registration for coaches and their children only, is scheduled August 27 through September 4. Registration for participants is September 5 through September 12 (will still take registration for coaches at this time). Volunteer coaches and Assistant Coaches are needed. Number of participants allowed to register is dependent on number of head coaches available in each age division. Contact Kevin at 872-0515 for additional information.

Officials switch positions on every foul call

Free Throw Mechanics

The Trail Official is on scorer table side, just above the free-throw line extended and halfway between the nearer free-throw lane line extended and the sideline.

The Lead Official is on the opposite side of floor approximately 4 feet from the nearer lane line and well off the end line. The Lead Official steps into the free throw lane, visually and verbally indicates the number of free throws administered. Bounce the ball to the thrower and back out of the lane.

Utah Jazz Basketball Clinic

Thursday, June 15

The Green River Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the Utah Jazz will be conducting a free Utah Jazz Player Appearance and basketball clinic on Thursday, June 15 at the Green River Recreation Center featuring former great Utah Jazz player, Bryon Russell. Bryon will talk to the clinic participants and lead them through various drills and competitions. The clinic is scheduled 5:00 PM and will last approximately one hour. No registration is necessary and youth of all ages can participate. Parents and spectators are welcome to attend.
