On January 24, 2013, Officers took a report of a theft of two pistols from a vehicle. An investigation was conducted and witnesses and a suspect were identified and interviewed. Mark Lee Oberg of Green River admitted to taking the pistols from the vehicle. One of the two pistols was recovered. Due to the circumstances of this investigation and other prior activity by Oberg, this case was referred to the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Office (ATF) in Cheyenne for review.
On Thursday April 4th, Officers assisted the ATF in arresting Oberg on a warrant issued out of the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming. The warrant was for, Possession of a stolen firearm, and, felon in possession of a firearm. Oberg was arrested and booked into the Sweetwater County Detention Center. The case will be prosecuted by the United States Attorney General’s Office.
Officers responded to an address on East Teton in reference to harassment and trespass. All persons involved were contacted by Officers.
Officers had previously addressed a nuisance property on Anvil. Follow up by the Nuisance Enforcement Officer determined that property had been properly cleaned up and was in compliance with the city ordinance.
Officers conducted a traffic stop due to erratic driving while traveling south on Uinta. After contacting the driver and occupants the Officer believed alcohol may have been a factor in the erratic driving. The driver was unable and unwilling to perform field sobriety tests. The driver Randy Lee Maynard, of Green River was arrested for Driving while under the influence of an intoxicating beverage, and for driving on a suspended license.
Crystal M. Hanson of Green River, an occupant of the vehicle was cited for open container.
ACO’s took a report of a cat bite.
Officers assisted medical personnel at 320 Mansface.
Officers took a report of a vehicle passing a school bus while its red lights were flashing and its stop sign was out.
Officers responded to 4th West regarding a parking complaint.
Officers were dispatched to South Carolina regarding a civil issue.
Officers responded to suspicious person on 4th West. The person was new to the area and was waiting outside for a ride.
ACO responded to an address on Clark regarding a dog running loose.
Officers responded to the FMC road in regards to a traffic complaint.
Officers responded to 700 Shoshone in regards to vehicles parked in the fire lane.
Officers responded to Smith’s in regards to a traffic crash.
Officers responded to a business on Uinta in regards to a dog running loose. The dog was impounded at the animal shelter.
Officers responded to an alarm on Alabama.
Officers responded to the Sweetwater County Courthouse regarding a suspicious person.
