Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of the Green River High School in reference to an accidental damage report. The reporting person advised that the wind caught her vehicle door, causing damage to another vehicle.
Officers investigated a report of property damage at the 1400 block of Bridger. The victim reported that the side mirror to her vehicle was broken off some time over the weekend.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the area of Rhode Island and West Teton in reference two black lab dogs at large.
A trespass warning was requested at 1700 Wilson for a prior tenant. The management of the trailer park advised that the tenant had caused extensive damage to the rental property and was no longer wanted on the property. Officers made contact with the subject and the trespass warning was issued.
Officers responded to the Police Department lobby for a report of threats. The reporting person advised that her husband’s ex-wife has been making threats toward her via text message. The reporting person wanted the incident documented.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to Hilltop Baptist Church in reference to a dog at large. A chocolate lab was impounded.
Officers investigated a fraud report from Quick Cash. The incident has been referred to the Sweetwater County Attorney’s Office for charges.
Officers responded to an alarm on Upland. The property was secured and it was determined that the alarm was activated due to a power outage.
Officers received a complaint of a vehicle blocking the roadway near Scotts Bottom. The reporting person advised that the driver was hitting golf balls into the side of a building. The suspect vehicle was not located and no damage was found in the area.
A power line was reported to have fallen behind the Maverik at 59 Uinta. Officers cleared the area and Rocky Mountain Power was notified.
Officers responded to, and abated numerous traffic hazards created by objects blown in the roadways due to the high winds.
A dog was impounded at Bank of the West on Shoshone after it was observed wandering into traffic.
Officers were dispatched to a medical alarm at 320 Mansface. Officers learned that the alarm was accidentally activated by cleaning staff.
Officers returned a bulldog to its owner after it was called in as a dog at large on Lombard Street.
Officers investigated a complaint of threats at the Mast. The owner called, advising that someone had threatened to blow up the bar. The investigation is ongoing.
Officers responded to three separate alarms at 591 E Flaming Gorge (Smoker Friendly). The building was secure and it was determined that the alarms were set off by the wind.
Officers investigated a single vehicle crash at E Flaming Gorge Way and Highway 530. A vehicle being driven by Jacob Hintz slid into the curb at the one-way entrance lane leading from E Flaming Gorge Way on to Uinta. The contributing factors for the crash were determined to be ice and wind.
Property damage created by the wind was reported at the Green River horse corrals. The respective property was secured and the owners were notified.
Benjamin Begay, age 48, of Green River was arrested on 04/08/13 at 2320 hours at the Mustang Motel for Domestic Violence. Officers were dispatched to a Domestic Battery and subsequent investigation showed Begay had assaulted his girlfriend by hitting and kicking her in the head.
Officers located and assisted with the clearance of debris and property damage due to high winds, including downed trees, damaged sheds, and other miscellaneous debris.
A hit and run crash was reported at 480 Nolan. Extensive damage was caused to a parked 2006 Ford Focus. The investigation is ongoing.
