Officers investigated vandalism on Schultz Street in Green River. The victim reportedly heard his kitchen window breaking shortly after his ex-girlfriend left the residence. The victim looked outside of his home and saw her running from the scene. Officers collected evidence at the scene. The investigation is ongoing until an interview is completed with the suspect.
Possible fraud and identity theft were reported by a subject that received a suspicious phone call at her home. The reporting person told Officers that she received a phone call from a person claiming to be an attorney out of Illinois. She was told that she was being sued for payday loans that she had not taken care of. The caller then attempted to get money and information from the reporting person. She ended the call and no monetary loss was reported. The Green River Police Department advises residents against giving personal information over the phone, or sending money to anyone without checking into the validity of the organization or claim.
Officers were contacted concerning a possible runaway on Colorado. The juvenile was located and the incident was determined to be unfounded.
A reckless driving complaint was made on Uinta. The reporting person witnessed a subject hanging out of the window to a vehicle. A child inside of the vehicle was not properly secured in a child safety restraint system.
Officers assisted Probation and Parole with witnessing urinalysis tests for current probationers.
Animal Control Officers impounded a black Labrador after it was called in by a concerned citizen on Trona. The dog had a red collar with the name “Boone” printed on it.
An attempted fraud was reported to Officers. The reporting person advised that an unknown male subject contacted the reporting person’s elderly mother, attempting to obtain money. The male subject stated that he was her grandson and his best friend had just passed away. The elderly woman began to cry and the subject hung up the phone. No personal information was exchanged.
Officers were dispatched to a two vehicle crash at Lincoln Middle School (350 Monroe). Two vehicles collided while backing into and out of parking spaces in the parking lot after the drivers failed to see each other.
Officers investigated an ongoing problem on Evers where the victim has been receiving mail with her neighbor’s name, but the victim’s address. The incident was investigated as a fraud after it was determined that the neighbor was attempting to open up a discover card using the victim’s information. The incident has been referred to the County Attorney’s Office for review.
A report of child abuse was made at one of the local schools after a student reported the incident to a school official. The student told Officers that she was physically assaulted by her father. The incident is under investigation.
A gas larceny was reported at the Maverik. Officers reviewed surveillance video and were able to locate the subjects involved. The incident was found to be unintentional and the subjects went back to the business where they paid for the gasoline.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to Bramwell Street in reference to a Rottweiler and Scottish Terrier that were running at large. Officers were unable to catch the dogs and subsequently lost sight of them.
A bus light violation was reported at Lincoln Middle School (350 Monroe). The reporting person told Officers that a female subject passed the bus while the lights were activated and the stop sign extended. The driver of the vehicle was on the phone at the time. Officers investigated the incident and were able to locate the suspect. The incident has been referred for prosecution.
Officers investigated a suspicious incident at Tollgate Station (1150 W Flaming Gorge). After a male subject entered the bathroom to the business, the reporting person heard a noise that she believed was possibly a gun shot. Officers located the male subject and determined that the noise came from the wind catching the door to the restroom. No damages or injuries were reported, and no firearms were found.
Officers were dispatched to a residence on Ironwood for a fraud report. The reporting person advised that she had received a phone call from a person claiming to represent a company that assists with fraud protection on credit cards and checking accounts. The caller attempted to obtain personal information from the reporting person. No information was exchanged and the reporting person ended the call.
Officers responded to the area of Wyoming and Tennessee in reference to a dog at large. The reporting party advised that the dog had been walking in the street and roaming the area for most of the day. Officers located the dog at the residence where it belongs and the owners were warned.
A suspicious incident was reported on E 4th South. The reporting person wanted Officers to check the area after seeing a subject walking near her residence, possibly hiding. Officers did not locate anyone in the area.
Officers investigated criminal entry at 1400 Bridger. The victim started his vehicle prior to going to work and left it running in the parking lot. The victim later overheard a male subject telling someone that he was going to steal the victim’s vehicle. The victim responded to his vehicle, where he found a male subject looking inside with the driver’s side door open. The suspect left the scene after yelling obscenities at the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
Officers completed a civil standby on Wilderness Trail for a child custody dispute.
Officers were dispatched to a 911 call on Arkansas where a young child could be heard on the other end of the line. Officers determined that the call was made by some children playing on the phone.
Officers responded to Castle Rock Medical Center for a burglar alarm. The alarm was accidentally activated by an employee.
Officers located a suspect in a shoplifting case after seeing the subject walking on Flaming Gorge. Officers recognized the suspect from surveillance video at the Maverick, where the suspect took alcohol from the business without paying for it. The incident has been referred for prosecution.
A parking complaint was reported in the alley behind the Krazy Moose. Patrons and tenants were unable to access the alley due to a vehicle that was blocking the roadway. The owner was contacted and the vehicle was moved.
A pink Next bike with plaid stickers and a purple Next Tiara bike were located at Veteran’s Park. The bikes were turned over to the police. The owners were located after they contacted the police when they noticed that the bikes were missing.
Officers assisted medical personnel on Bramwell for a 40-year-old male that was having a poor reaction to his medication. The subject was transported to Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
Officers investigated a report of threats and civil issues between the reporting person and her daughter’s boyfriend. A civil standby was completed and the issue was resolved.
A barking dog complaint was made on Hoover. The dogs had been reportedly barking for almost an hour. The reporting person notified the neighbor and requested that they put their dogs inside, with no result. The dogs were inside upon Officers arriving on scene.
A parking complaint was made on W Railroad where a vehicle was reportedly blocking the roadway. Officers located the owner of the vehicle and it was subsequently moved.
Officers investigated a stolen vehicle report at the Mustang Motel. The victim reported that she had loaned her vehicle to an employee, with the agreement that the vehicle would be returned that evening. However, the employee had not returned the vehicle over 24 hours past the agreed upon time and was reportedly driving to Arizona. The vehicle was returned to the owner the following day and the owner refused prosecution.
Loud music was reported at Rocky Mountain Car wash. Officers were able to locate the problem and the incident was resolved.
A report was made to Animal Control concerning the reporting person’s dog being attacked by another dog. The incident is being investigated.
Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of E Teton in reference to two very young children riding their bikes in the street with no apparent adult supervision. Officers located the children and subsequently made contact with their mother who was advised.
Officers responded to the area of Barnhart and Monroe in reference to someone lying in the street. The subject was believed to be a juvenile male. The subject was gone prior to Officers arriving on scene.
A traffic complaint was made concerning a vehicle that was being operated with numerous children inside. The reporting person did not believe that the children were secured properly in a child safety seat.
A suspicious person was reported to the police at the old Union Pacific Depot. A male subject was seen exiting the abandoned building and getting into a vehicle with Utah plates. Officers located the subject and determined that he was working with UPRR on doing an environmental study of the building.
Officers investigated a domestic violence incident at 700 Schultz. A report was taken where a mother and her adult daughter were involved in a physical altercation. The subjects were separated and the incident has been referred for prosecution.
Officers responded to Ace Hardware in reference to a shoplifting incident. A male subject left the business without paying for some audio equipment. Witness statements and surveillance video were obtained. The investigation is ongoing.
Officers assisted with a suicidal subject on Cumorah. The subject called police after claiming that he could see people coming after him inside of his residence. Officers determined that no one had been inside of the home. However, the subject was suffering from some mental issues and agreed to go to the hospital voluntarily.
