Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The following events were reported on August 12, 2013:


Officers transported a prisoner from the Sweetwater County Detention Facility to an arraignment in Municipal Court.

Officers and Ambulance Personnel responded to Castle Rock Medical Center, in reference to an elderly male possibly having a stroke.

Officers investigated vehicle vandalism at the Smith’s Food and Drug parking lot, investigation ongoing.

Officers conducted VIN checks on Moran Street, Schultz Street, Wilson Street, Mountain View Street, and numerous VIN checks were performed at the Police Department.

Officers investigated a parking complaint on McKinley Street.

Officers were called to Smith’s Food and Drug, in regards to several vehicles that had been left in the parking lot, abandoned. The vehicles were tagged and the owners contacted.

Officers assisted a subject at the Police Department with questions regarding a possible computer scam.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on East 2nd North, in reference to an aggressive dog at large. The dog and owner were located and the owner was issued two (2) citations for the offenses.

Officers responded to an address on Iowa Street, in reference to civil questions regarding the sale of a 4-wheeler trailer.

Officers were dispatched to an address on South 2nd East, regarding questions about lost property.

Officers responded to 700 Schultz in reference to a vehicle crash. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a juvenile male was driving backwards, at approximately 25 mph and collided with 3 parked vehicles. The juvenile was issued a citation for Reckless Driving.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Daniel Boone, in regards to an injured squirrel.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the Maverick Country Store, in reference to a dog at large.

Animal Control Officers responded to 700 Schultz, in regards to a black border collie at large, that was bothering the neighborhood children.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Arizona Street, in regards to a verbal domestic. The parties were later separated for the night.

Officers responded to 700 Schultz, to assist with a civil standby for a subject wanting to pick up some personal belongings.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment at the 420 Wilkes Drive apartment complex, in reference to a report of trespassing.

Animal Control Officers responded to 700 Schultz in regards to an injured Chihuahua.

Officers were dispatched to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in reference to possible drug activity.

Officers responded to an address on North 4th West, regarding a noise complaint.

Officers were dispatched to an address on West Railroad Avenue, in reference to a parking complaint.

Officers responded to the Police Department, regarding a portable breath test needing administered on an individual for probation purposes.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Wilderness Trail, in reference to a domestic dispute. The individuals were separated for the evening.
