Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The following events were reported on August 13, 2013:


Officers were dispatched to an address on Pecan Drive, in reference to an alarm. It was determined that the alarm was accidental.

Officers responded to the area of the Maverick Country Store, in regards to a REDDI report. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

Officers investigated the theft of approximately 12 bales of hay from a corral at the Municipal Horse Corrals. Officers were called back to the corrals later that day to speak with the victim, who had more information. Upon further investigation, Officers located the suspect at the corrals and were able to get a confession in the case. The report was sent to the County Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.

Officers conducted VIN checks on Wilkes Drive and East Teton Boulevard, as well as several at the Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Alabama Drive, in reference to a parking violation.

Officers were called to Adult Probation and Parole, to assist in witnessing several urine analysis tests, for individuals on probation.

Officers responded to the area of South 2nd East, in reference to a report of illegal dumping in the Green River. It was determined to be city workers flushing a fire hydrant in the area, causing storm drain overflow to run off into the river.

Detectives with the Green River Police Department assisted numerous subjects with completing fingerprint cards at the Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Colorado Drive, in reference to a threatening voicemail left on the victim’s phone.

Officers were called to the County Attorney’s Office, to assist in serving an arrest warrant on Joseph Puckett, 39 years old of Green River. Puckett was arrested and transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Facility.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Mansface Drive, in regards to a barking dog complaint.

Officers responded to Smith’s Food and Drug, in reference to a citizen assist.

Officers assisted a citizen on West Teton Boulevard, in regards to obtaining property involved in a civil dispute.

Officers responded to an address on Upland Way, in reference to a civil standby.

Officers were dispatched to an address on East 3rd South, regarding a civil issue.

Officers responded to an address on East 3rd South, in reference to questions a subject had regarding custody of a small child.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the area of Hitching Post Drive and Shoshone Avenue, regarding a dog at large.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Jefferson Street, in reference to questions pertaining to a protection order.

Officers responded to a business on Uinta Drive, regarding a report of found property. The owner of the property returned and the property was released to the owner.

Officers responded to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to an alarm. The alarm was determined to be accidental.

Officers were dispatched to the area of West 2nd North, in regards to a subject losing their keys while hiking on Castle Rock.
