Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The following events were reported on August 26, 2013:


Officers responded to an address on Alabama Street, in reference to a report of found property.

Officers responded to the Maverick Country Store, in regards to an ex-employee, obtaining property under false pretenses. This investigation is ongoing.

Officers investigated a report of an abandoned vehicle, at a business on Nolan Street.

Officers responded to the intersection of Uinta Drive and Riverview Drive, in reference to a two (2) vehicle crash.

Animal Control Officers impounded a dog at large that was located in the area of North 1st East.

Officers assisted the Wyoming Department of Family Services (DFS), with a welfare check on Wilson Street.

Officers responded to an address on Daniel Boone, in regards to a child welfare check.

Officers investigated a two (2) vehicle crash, in the parking lot of Trona Valley Federal Credit Union.

Officers were dispatched to the area of McDonald’s, in reference to a traffic complaint.

Officers responded to the Police Department lobby, in regards to a citizen assist.

Officers conducted numerous VIN checks at the Police Department, as well as residences on Yates Street and Fox Hills Drive.

Officers responded to an address on Fawn Circle, in regards to a residential alarm. It was determined that the alarm was accidental.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Pennsylvania Boulevard, in reference to a dog at large.
Officers were dispatched to an address on West Railroad Avenue, in regards to a trespass warning.

Officers and Ambulance Personnel responded to an apartment at the 1400 Bridger Drive complex, in reference to an ambulance assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on South 5th East, in regards to a civil standby.

Officers responded to a one (1) vehicle crash on West Teton Boulevard and Monroe Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that 27 year old Jakob Taggart, of Green River, was Driving While Under the Influence. Taggart was arrested for DUI and transported to the Detention Facility.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Chugwater Drive, in regards to an animal problem.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Elk Mountain Drive, in reference to a barking dog complaint.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the area of Hitching Post Drive and Centennial Drive, in regards to a dog at large.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Daniel Boone, in reference to a cat at large.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Tigee Circle, in regards to a barking dog complaint.

Officers responded to an address on Washakie Avenue, in reference to discharging a firearm in city limits.

Officers were dispatched to the Smith’s Food and Drug parking lot, in regards to an infant left inside a vehicle, unattended.

Officers and Ambulance Personnel responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a child with abdominal pain.

Officers and Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an alley off of Barnhart Street, in regards to an injured deer.

Officers responded to an address on South Dakota Drive, in reference to a juvenile problem.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Montana Way, in regards to an injured rabbit.

Officers responded to the Police Department lobby, in reference to performing several, court ordered, Portable Breath Tests (PBTs).

Officers were dispatched to an address on East Railroad, regarding a dog at large.

Officers responded to an address on South 1st West, in reference to a report of sexual assault. This investigation is ongoing.
