Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The following events were reported on August 29th, 2013:

Officers were dispatched to Wild Horse Canyon Road in reference to a badger in a trash container.

Officers provided a funeral escort from the east side of town to the cemetery.

Officers responded to the Island Pavilion in reference to a subject with a warrant. 19 year old Trevor Duvall was subsequently arrested on a warrant for possession of spice and use of spice. He was transported to the detention center and will appear in court to face the charges.

Officers responded to several apartment complexes on Riverview Dr. and Wilkes Dr., in reference to a complaint regarding excessive trash and weeds in violation of city ordinance.

Officers spoke with a citizen at the police department who was concerned about receiving unwanted pornographic images on his cell phone.

Officers responded to Riverview Dr. and Wilkes Dr. in reference to a minor traffic crash with no injuries.

Officers spoke with a citizen at the police department who wished to report a phone scam.

Officers advised a citizen who had civil questions regarding disposal of unwanted property that did not belong to him.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of N. 5th W. for a report of a dog barking excessively.

Officers accompanied Rock Springs Police Department and Department of Family Services at a residence in Pioneer Park regarding a protective custody issue with a 13 month old child.

Officers responded to Alexandria Circle to speak with a property owner who reported a battery against him by a contractor who was working in the area.

Officers responded to a residence on Riverview Dr. in reference to a report of credit card fraud. A citizen reported her credit card was fraudulently used to make purchases totaling approximately $900. The investigation into this matter will be ongoing.

Officers responded to a residence on Riverview regarding property destruction. A subject reported two of his tires were slashed by an unknown person.
