Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on January 9, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on January 10, 2014:

Officers took a report of small fire in the backyard of an address on Keith Drive that occurred during the night.

Officers responded to an address on Essex Street in reference to an alarm.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Uinta Drive.

Officers responded to an address on Crossbow Drive in reference to a welfare check.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department.

Officers responded to an address on West 3rd South in reference to a welfare check.

Officers responded to an address on Arizona Street in reference a phone scam. A caller wanted money sent by a GreenDot MoneyPak Visa card to claim a vehicle won through Publishers Clearing House. The resident discovered the call was a scam and reported it. The resident realized the (876) area code came from an area code for Jamaica, which the caller denied. The resident also stated they would call the Pulishers Clearing House directly and was advised by the caller he was not in the main officer rather an office in Las Vegas. Green River Police Department wants to remind people not to send money to people you don’t know, respond to phone calls, e-mails or ads asking for personal or financial information.

Officers responded to an address on Monroe Ave. in reference to a 911 call. Upon arrival, Officers determined everything was okay and the call was accidental.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way in reference to a stray kitten.

Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive in reference to a phone scam. The caller wanted money sent to them.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby in reference to a civil matter.

Officers responded to an address on Arizona Street in reference to a verbal dispute.

Officers responded to the area of West 3rd South in reference to a REDDI report.

Officers spoke on the phone with a subject in reference to an earlier reported civil matter.

Officers responded to an address on Uinta Drive in reference to suspicious vehicles. Contact was made with drivers and Officers determined everything was okay.

Officers took a report of a larceny at an address on Hoback Street.

Officers observed a traffic crash on Logan Street. Driver Jack Ryan, age 25, was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence.

Quenten Wilde, age 36, was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol.

Officers responded to an address on North Riverbend in reference to a verbal dispute.
