Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on January 13, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on January 14, 2014:
Officers took a report of a hit and run vehicle crash at an address on Illinois Court.
Officers responded to an address on East 3rd South in reference to a parking complaint. Vehicle was parked and blocking the trash can.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive in reference to a found dog. Animal Control Officers took the dog to the animal shelter.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Connecticut Place in reference to a contained dog. Animal Control Officers took the dog to the animal shelter.
Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and an address on North 5th East.
Officers responded to a vehicle crash on West Flaming Gorge Way. A vehicle backed into a parked vehicle.
Officers took a report over the phone in reference to harassment.
Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Uinta Drive.
Officers responded the Green River Police Department lobbies in reference to a citizen assist. After speaking with the reporting party Officer completed a fraud report.
Officers took a report of an attempted phone scam at an address on Colorado Circle. The reporting party stated the suspect acted like the reporting parties grandson who said he was in jail and needed money. The reporting party told the suspect they believed the call to be a scam. The suspect then stated he was the reporting party’s grandson and his friend had been killed in a car accident. The suspect said he was at the funeral home needing money. The suspect told the reporting party he was talking different because he broke his nose in the accident. The reporting party determined it was a scam and contacted the police.
Officers responded to an address on Uinta Drive in reference to a citizen assist. The Officer assisted by working traffic control.
Officers responded to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way in reference to a fire alarm. The alarm was determined to be set off by maintenance work being done at the address.
Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on West 5th North.
Animal Control Officers were called from an address on Wilderness Trail in reference to an animal at large.
Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard in reference to a citizen assist.
Officers responded to an address on East Railroad Ave. in reference to a disturbance. Officers contacted parties and were advised there had been a verbal dispute.
Officers responded to an address on Monroe Ave. in reference a traffic complaint. It was reported a vehicle drove through the crosswalk on Monroe Ave. in front of Monroe Middle School.
Officers took a report of a vehicle crash at an address on Hitching Post Drive.
Officers responded to an address on Jensen Street in reference to a found license plate. Officers were able to locate the owner and returned the license plate.
Officers took a report of a traffic complaint at Kansas Street and West Teton Boulevard in reference to a passing a school bus violation.
Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive in reference to a welfare check.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby in reference to a civil matter over a money dispute.
Officers responded to an address on East 3rd South in reference to a disturbance.
Officers responded to an address on Mansface Street in reference to a suspicious person.
Officers attempted to locate a vehicle from a REDDI report on Uinta Drive.
Officers responded to an address on Wyoming Drive in reference to an attempted phone scam. Several people in the residence received phone calls on different phones from a male caller. The caller alleged their telephone numbers were left on the caller’s car in reference to a vehicle crash. The reporting party advised their vehicle has not been in a crash.
Officers responded to an address on East 2nd South in reference to a suspicious vehicle.
