Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on March 11, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on March 12, 2014:
Officers responded to the area of Riverview Drive in regards to a found property.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Adams Street, regarding a report of a dog at large.
Officers assisted a motorist on West Teton Boulevard.
Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive, in reference to a welfare check.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Cumorah Way, in reference to an agency assist. Officers assisted Wyoming Department of Family Services on a welfare check at the address.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in regards to a juvenile problem. Officers spoke with the reporting party and advised the issue was a civil matter involving custody issues.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Shoshone Avenue, in reference to an attempted scam. The reporting party was asked to withdrawal money from a bank account, go to Rock Springs and await further instructions as where to send the money. The reporting party and bank employees recognized this as a scam and no financial loss occurred. The suspect calling the reporting party was calling from area code 876, which is an area code for Jamaica.
Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive to assist with a funeral escort to Riverview Cemetery.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way, regarding a report of a dog at large.
Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to an agency assist. Officers assisted Wyoming Department of Family Services on a welfare check at the address.
Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department.
Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance Service at an address on South Carolina Drive.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Hitching Post Drive, in reference to a report of threats. Upon arrival, Officers were advised an unknown person sent a threatening e-mail to the reporting party.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Indian Hills Drive, in reference to an agency assist. Officers assisted Wyoming Department of Family Services on a welfare check at the address.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Butte Street, regarding a barking dog complaint. Animal Control Officers located the owner of the dog and a warning was issued.
Officers were dispatched to the area of East 2nd South, in reference to a two vehicle crash. During the investigation, it was determined one vehicle collided with the rear of another vehicle that was stopped in traffic, awaiting a third vehicle to turn. Austin Cave, age 19, was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and issued a traffic citation.
Officers responded to an address on Wilkes Drive, in regards to a report of a juvenile problem.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Logan Street, in reference to a found small dog. The dog was taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.
Officers were dispatched to an address on West Teton Boulevard, regarding a citizen assist.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Colorado Drive, in reference to a report of a dog at large.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Schultz Street, regarding a civil standby.
Officers responded to an address on Juniper Street, in regards to a report of vandalism. The reporting party advised the driver side window of a vehicle had been damaged sometime during the day by an unknown person.
Officers were dispatched to an address on North 3rd East, regarding a verbal dispute.
Officers were dispatched to an address on North 8th West, in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, one party had left the residence and it was reported an altercation occurred.
Officers responded to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way, in regards to an unsecured property. Officers reported everything appeared okay and contacted a responsible party.
