Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on March 12, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on March 13, 2014:
Officers were dispatched to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way, in regards to a citizen assist.
Officers responded to an address on West 5th North, in reference to a juvenile problem.
Officers were dispatched to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a report of an individual urinating in public. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the individual and a citation was issued.
Officers completed VIN inspections at addresses on; East 4th South, East Teton Boulevard and New Hampshire Street.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on East Teton Boulevard, in regards to a welfare check on a couple of horses.
Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance Service at an address on Medicine Bow Drive.
Officers responded to an address on East 3rd South, in reference to reports of multiple parking complaints.
Officers were dispatched to an address on East 3rd South, in reference to an agency assist. Officers assisted Department of Family Service on a welfare check, in regards to living conditions in the home.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Wilson Street, regarding a dog at large. Animal Control Officers located a Rottweiler mix puppy and took it to the animal shelter.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on North 1st East, regarding a barking dog complaint. Animal Control Officers posted a notice at the address.
John McCaslin, age 50, was arrested for Driving While Under Suspension and per an active Sweetwater County Warrant for, Failure to Appear on an original charge of Driving While Under Suspension and Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department, regarding a citizen assist.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department, in reference to a civil issue regarding property.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Butte Street, regarding a report of a dog at large. Animal Control Officers contacted the owner of the dog an issued a warning.
Officers took a report of burglary at an address on Flaming Gorge Way. This case is actively being investigated by the GRPD Detective Division.
Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance Service at an address on South 5th East.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Wilson Street, in reference to a fire alarm. Upon arrival, Officers determined everything was okay.
Officers responded to an address on Sundance Drive, regarding an attempted scam. The reporting party stated they downloaded an anti virus computer program, as their computer seemed to have a virus. Several hours later, the reporting party received a phone call from a voice reported to be that of an Asian male. This individual reported the computer was going to crash and needed payment over the phone with a credit card to fix the problem. The reporting party did not suffer a loss and hung up on the caller.
Officers responded to I-80, in reference to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the vehicle and occupant and reported everything was okay.
