Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on March 18, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on March 19, 2014:
Officers were dispatched to an address on Wilkes Drive, in reference to a report of a hit and run vehicle crash. It was reported a vehicle struck and damaged several items on the property and left the scene.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Clark Street, in reference to a report of a hit and run vehicle crash. It was reported a vehicle struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle during the night and left the scene. Upon further investigation, the suspect vehicle and driver were located for both this vehicle crash and the vehicle crash reported on Wilkes Drive. The suspect driver was issued two citations for hit and run and a citation for reckless driving.
Officers responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection East Teton Boulevard and Colorado Drive. It was reported a vehicle could not stop due to slick road conditions at the intersection and struck a fence of a residence.
Officers assisted a motorist that slid off the road due to weather related road conditions on Wilkes Drive.
Officers responded to the intersection of West Teton Boulevard and Monroe Avenue for a two vehicle crash. It was reported a vehicle could not stop due to slick roads and slid into the back of another vehicle stopped at a stop sign.
Officers took a report of a hit and run vehicle crash that occurred at the underpass on West 2nd South. It was reported one vehicle sideswiped another and kept driving.
Officers responded to the intersection of Mountain View Street and Stage Place, in reference to a vehicle crash.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Adams Street, in regards to a report of a dog at large.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Brandner Circle, in reference to a report of a nuisance property.
Officers responded to an address on Mansface Street, in reference to a vehicle crash. It was reported due to slick road conditions a vehicle slid into a parked and unoccupied vehicle causing damage to both vehicles.
Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and addresses on North 7th West and Aspen Street.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a citizen assist.
Officers were dispatched to an address on North 2nd East, in regards to a report of harassment.
Officers responded to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, Officers located and recovered the vehicle and contacted the original reporting law enforcement agency out of Washington.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a report of a disturbance. Officers determined the issue was a civil matter involving property.
Officers responded to the Adult Green River Probation and Parole Office, in regards to an agency assist.
Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a report of a juvenile problem on Bridger Drive.
Officers were dispatched to an address on East Flaming Gorge, in reference to a 911 hang up call. Upon arrival, Officers determined a verbal dispute occurred between two individuals.
Officers took a report of an attempted fraud at an address on Bridger Drive. It was reported an individual attempted to cash a counterfeit Coinstar voucher. The voucher was identified as counterfeit and no monetary loss was reported.
Officers completed a report of a vehicle passing a school bus light violation. The report was taken from the School District #2 School Bus Yard.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a report of a hit and run vehicle crash. It was reported a vehicle backed into a parked and unoccupied vehicle. The driver left the crash location and did not attempt to contact the owner of the parked vehicle. The driver was issued a citation for hit and run unattended property.
Officers responded to an address on South Wagonwheel Drive, in regards to a report of a hit and run vehicle crash. It was reported an unknown vehicle struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle.
Animal Control Officers responded to the area of North 1st East, in regards to a report of a dog at large.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Elk Valley Drive, in reference to a report of property damage. The reporting party advised two tires on their vehicle had been damaged.
Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive, in reference to a 911 hang up. Upon arrival, Officers determined the call to be accidental.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Jensen Street, in reference to a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, Officers located Patrick Bakkala, age 27, who was arrested for Trespassing at the residence.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Lombard Street, in regards to a residential burglar alarm. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the resident and determined everything was okay.
