A recent variant of a Green Dot Money Pack Card scam has been circulating. The suspect will falsely identify themselves as a law enforcement official over the phone. The suspect will tell the victim they did not appear for jury duty and a warrant has been issued. The suspect then tells the victim if they buy a Green Dot Money Pak and read the number over the phone to them the warrant will be taken care of. The victim is then given a fake court date, time and judges name to appear and the money will be returned. Although, Green Dot Money Card is a valid way to move money, individuals should be skeptical when they are contacted by an unknown person requesting money to be sent in this manner.
