Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on April 4, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on April 5, 2014:

Officers responded to an address on Wyoming Drive, in regards to a residential alarm. Officers checked the location and reported everything was okay.

Officers transported two inmates from the Sweetwater County Detention Center to the Green River Municipal Court.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Scott’s Bottom Road, in reference to a report of smoke. Upon arrival Officers determined everything was okay, the smoke was coming from chimneys of a wood stove.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and addresses on: West Teton Boulevard, East 3rd South, Mississippi Street and Uinta Drive.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Pelser Street, in reference to a report of a larceny. Upon further investigation, the reporting party’s property was returned and a trespass warning was issued per the reporting party’s request.

Officers responded to an address on Iowa Avenue, in regards to a report of a nuisance property.

Officers were dispatched to an address on North 1st West, in reference to a report of an attempted fraud. A business was contacted by an individual who falsely represented themselves as a business. The individual sent the business a fraudulent check for services to be rendered. The business determined the check was fraudulent and reported no monetary loss.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Arkansas Drive, in regards to a report of a large brown dog at large.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Colorado Drive, in regards to a report of a small puppy at large.

Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive, in reference to a report of a two vehicle crash.

Officers responded to the School District #2 School Bus Yard on Monroe Avenue, regarding a passing a school bus light violation. The driver was located and Officers completed a report regarding the violation.

Jeffrey Hampton, age 22, was arrested for Driving While Under Suspension and issued a traffic citation.

Officer responded to a location south of Commerce Way, in reference to a traffic complaint. The reporting party reported various types of vehicles attempting to drive up the hill side.

Alretta Wright, age 38, was arrested for Interference with a Peace Officer.

Officers responded to an address on Faith Drive, in reference to an unsecured property. Officers checked the area, reported everything was okay and secured the property.


The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on April 5, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on April 6, 2014:

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Evers Street.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Expedition Island, regarding a report of a black dog at large.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on West 3rd North, in reference to a welfare check on a dog.

Officers responded to an address on Maryland Drive, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on North 1st West, in reference to a found bicycle. If you’ve lost a bicycle contact the Green River Police Department with a description of your bicycle to see if it is yours.

Officers were dispatched to an address on North 4th West, in reference to a trespass warning. The reporting party wanted to cancel a trespass warning they had previously requested.

Officers responded to an address on North 4th West, in reference to a welfare check. Upon arrival, Officers reported everything was okay.

Officers located a vehicle described in a traffic complaint on East 4th South. Officers contacted the driver who was given a warning.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Indian Hills Drive, in regards to suspicious text messages being received.

Officers responded to an address on East 3rd South, in reference to an unsecured property. Officers checked the property, everything was okay and the property was secured.

Officers responded to an address on Railroad Avenue, in reference to an unsecured property. Officers checked the property, reported everything was okay and secured the property.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, regarding a civil standby involving property.


The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on April 6, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on April 7, 2014:


Officers assisted Deputies with the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office locate a subject who had an active warrant.

Officers responded to an address on Maryland Drive, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a report of a lost child in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, Officers determined who the child was, parents were contacted and they were reunited.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Wyoming Drive, in regards to a report of a suspicious person. It was reported the individual was walking around the neighborhood and looking in mailboxes. The person was located and reported to be a juvenile visiting a family member in the area.

Officers spoke with an individual who reported a littering offense on East 2nd North.

Animal Control Officers responded to Riverview Drive, in regards to a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a Dachshund.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at an address on East Teton Boulevard.

Officers responded to an address on Cumorah Way, regarding a citizen assist.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Crossbow Drive, in reference to a welfare check on a cat.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Hackberry Street, in reference to a report of a dog at large. Animal Control Officers impounded an older Jack Russell Terrier.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Essex Street, in reference to a report of a dog at large. Animal Control Officers impounded a reddish colored Terrier.

Officers responded to an address on Apache Avenue, in regards to a report of a suspicious phone call. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the reporting party and the person the call came from. Officers reported the call was legitimate just the wrong number.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Wyoming Drive, in reference to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the vehicle’s occupants and reported everything was okay.

Officers responded to an address on Conestoga Lane, in regards to a report of an aggressive cat at large.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Waggener Street, in reference to a medical call. The reporting party transported the patient to the hospital by their personal vehicle.
