Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on April 11, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on April 12, 2014:

Officers took a report of an auto burglary at an address on Sundance Drive. The reporting party advised they had electronic items stolen from inside their vehicle.

Officers responded to an address on Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of a larceny. It was reported an individual took fuel without paying.

Officers transported an inmate from the Sweetwater County Detention Center to the Green River Municipal Court.

Officers responded to an address on Crossbow Drive, in reference to a report of a single car vehicle crash. The driver was trying to back out of a parking spot and put the vehicle in drive, rather than reverse and struck a sign post.

Officers responded to an address on Wyoming Drive, in regards to a report of a larceny. The case was already being investigated by the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office and the case was turned over to them.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department lobby and addresses on Colorado Circle, Pelser Street and Birch Street.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Colorado Circle.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a civil dispute involving a dispute over services rendered.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a citizen assist.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, regarding a welfare check of an animal locked in a vehicle.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of a noise complaint coming from a vehicle.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Buckboard Lane, in reference to a 911 hang up call. Upon arrival, Officers determined a verbal dispute occurred. During the investigation Michelle Johnson, age 42, was arrested per an active Sweetwater County Warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (marijuana) and also on a new charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (marijuana).

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, regarding a welfare check of an animal locked in a vehicle.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance Service personnel at an address on Crossbow Drive.

Officers responded to an address on Anvil Drive, in regards to a report of harassment.

Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in reference to a welfare check.

Officers were dispatched to the area of South 2nd East and the Greenbelt, in regards to a report of a traffic complaint. The reporting party advised a vehicle (four wheeler) was driving on the Greenbelt.

Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in regards to a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was tagged and the reporting party was advised.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on East Teton Boulevard, regarding a barking dog complaint.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Homestead Drive, in reference to a report of a single vehicle crash. During the investigation it was reported a vehicle in transport struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle. Desiree Lawrence, age 30, was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol.

Officers responded to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way, in regards to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers contacted parties involved and determined there was a verbal dispute over a civil issue.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of West 2nd North, regarding a report of a Chihuahua at large. The dog was located and taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on West Railroad Avenue, regarding a report of a dog at large. The animal’s owner was contacted and advised a friend would retrieve the dog.

Officers responded to an address on Uinta Drive, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a REDDI report on Bridger Drive.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive, in reference to a report of an animal in a trap.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Hitching Post Drive, in regards to a report of two suspicious circumstances. Officers contacted two individuals and addressed a littering complaint.

Officers responded to the area of Wilkes Drive, in regards to a report of suspicious persons in the area.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a welfare check. Officers contacted the individual and reported everything was okay.

Officers responded to an address on South Wagonwheel Drive, in regards to a report of threatening text messages. Officers spoke with both parties involved.

Officers were dispatched to an address on East Railroad Avenue, in reference to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke to individuals who reported seeing a fight prior to Officers arrival and the involved parties who were unknown left the area.

Officers responded to an address on Nolan Street, in regards to a report of a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, Officers investigated the trespass complaint. While at the location Christopher Cummings, age 41, was arrested for Public Intoxication.


The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on April 12, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on April 13, 2014:

Officers were dispatched to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a report of a disturbance. Officers contacted parties involved and a trespass warning was issued for the property.

Officers were dispatched to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way additional times after a trespass warning had been issued. Dan Blunk, age 52, was arrested for Trespassing and Malicious Mischief.

Officers responded to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a report of a vehicle crash. During the investigation, Officers determined a parked vehicle was left unoccupied with the manual transmission in gear and the parking brake not engaged. The vehicle then rolled back and struck another vehicle.

Officers assisted Wyoming Probation and Parole at an address on East Flaming Gorge Way.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on New Hampshire Street, in reference to a barking dog complaint.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Cumorah Way, in regards to a report of a hit and run vehicle crash. A vehicle struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle and then left the scene. The suspect driver was contacted and issued a citation for hit and run.

Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive, in regards to a report of a larceny.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the Municipal Horse Corrals, in reference to welfare check on a horse.

Officers located a vehicle described in a REDDI report on East Flaming Gorge Way. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the driver who was determined not to be intoxicated.

Officers responded to an address on West 2nd North, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on West 3rd South, in reference to a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, Officers contacted individuals at the residence and determined they were allowed to be there.

Officers responded to an address on Brandner Circle, in reference to a report of two missing children. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the reporting party and the children were located shortly after. The children were playing in the neighborhood and did not let their parents know where they went.

Officers responded to an address on Elk Valley Drive, in reference to a residential alarm. Upon arrival, Officers determined the alarm sound indicated the battery was low.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Oklahoma Drive, in reference to a barking dog complaint. Animal Control Officers posted a notice at the address.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Knotty Pine Street, in regards to a residential alarm. A responsible party arrived and Officers checked the residence. Everything was reported to be okay and the alarm was accidental.

Officers responded to an address on East 2nd South, regarding a report of a nuisance property. The reporting party advised there were abandoned cars on the property.

Officers responded to the area of East 2nd North, regarding a report of a dog at large. Officers located a large, white and brown Husky with a pink collar and took the dog to the Green River Animal Shelter.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a traffic complaint on East Teton Boulevard.

Officers completed a VIN inspection on Wyoming Drive.

Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in regards to a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Crossbow Drive, regarding civil issues involving property.

Officers assisted Wyoming Highway Patrol with a vehicle located, that had been described in a REDDI report on I-80.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on West Railroad Avenue.

Officers responded to an address on Cumorah Way, in reference to a subject removal. The individual left the property prior to Officers arrival.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a REDDI report on Uinta Drive.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Moran Drive, in regards to a report of a larceny. The reporting party advised a bicycle was taken from the residence.

Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in reference to a report of a burglary. It was reported items were reportedly missing from the building and a lock had been damaged.

Officers were dispatched to an address Oklahoma Drive, regarding a report of a juvenile problem.

Officers responded to an address on Wilkes Drive, in reference to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with parties involved and determined a verbal dispute occurred.

Officers responded to an unsecured property on Clark Street. Officers contacted a responsible party for the property and checked the property and reported everything was okay.


The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on April 13, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on April 14, 2014:

Officers were dispatched to an address on North 5th West, regarding a barking dog complaint.

Officers responded to the area of Riverview Drive, in reference to a report of a dog at large. Officers located an old Golden Retriever with no collar. The dog was taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.

Officers responded to an address on Maryland Drive, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers completed a VIN inspection at an address on Oklahoma Drive.
Officers were dispatched to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a fire alarm. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with a responsible party and determined it was a false alarm.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Nolan Street, in regards to a report of a dog at large. Animal Control Officers located a Bulldog and took the animal to the Green River Animal Shelter.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on West Railroad Avenue.

Officers responded to an address on Cumorah Way, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a report of an auto burglary.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Crossbow Drive.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with parties involved who were advised of the complaint.
