Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on April 23, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on April 24, 2014:

Officers transported an inmate from the Sweetwater County Detention Center to the Green River Municipal Court.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and addresses on: Hitching Post Drive, Andrews Street and Colorado Drive.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a report of a larceny. The reporting party advised a customer took fuel without paying for it.

Officers responded to an address on Alabama Street, in regards to a report of a burglary.

Animal Control Officers took a report of cats at large on Virginia Drive.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Colorado Circle, regarding a report of a parking complaint. The reporting party stated vehicles parked blocking a sidewalk making it difficult for pedestrians and kids on bicycles to use the sidewalk.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Uinta Drive.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Bridger Drive.

Officers responded to the area of West Teton Boulevard, in reference a report of a suspicious vehicle.

Officers responded to the west end of Green River, in reference to a trespassing report on railroad property.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on East 4th South.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Montana Way, in regards to a report of a dog at large.

Officers responded to an address on Madison Avenue, regarding an audible vehicle alarm. Officers contacted the owner of the vehicle who reported having problems turning off the car alarm.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Minnesota Court, in reference to a report of a fire. The fire resulted from ashes of a wood stove being put into a trashcan. The trashcan was destroyed with no other property damage reported.

Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in regards to a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Hitching Post Drive and Bridger Drive, in reference to a two vehicle crash. One driver was issued a citation for Failure to Yield the Right of Way at a stop sign.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on East 2nd North.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Uinta Drive and Riverview, in reference to a report of a hit and run vehicle crash. Officers spoke with the reporting party who advised the vehicle that struck theirs did not stop. The suspect vehicle was located and the driver was issued a citation for Hit and Run Attended Property.

Officers responded to an address on East 4th South, in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers determined a verbal dispute occurred between two individuals at the residence.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Nolan Street.

Officers took a call regarding a welfare check at an address on East 4th South.

Officers responded to an address on Apache Avenue, in regards to a report of a suspicious incident. Officers spoke with the reporting party, checked the area and reported everything was okay.
