Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on April 29, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on April 30, 2014:
Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at addresses on: Pennsylvania Boulevard, East Flaming Gorge Way and Schultz Street.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a citizen assist.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the individual and report everything was okay and assisted the individual.
Officers responded to an address on East Teton Boulevard, in regards to a citizen assist involving a civil issue.
Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive, in reference to a report of an assault. The reporting party advised an altercation between juveniles took place.
Brandon Woods, age 40, was arrested for Driving While Under Suspension.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Blake Street, in reference to a found dog.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Andrews Street, in regards to a report of an attempted computer scam. The reporting party received a phone call from an unknown person representing themselves as a Microsoft employee. The employee stated they needed access to the reporting party’s computer to fix software issues. The reporting party recognized it as a scam and did not provide any personal information and had no monetary loss.
Officers responded to the area of Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of a dog at large. The animal was described as a German Shepard mix, with a collar and no tags. The dog was taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Faith Drive, in reference to a report of an attempted scam. The reporting party received a phone call from an unknown person portraying themselves as their grandchild. The individual was attempting to have money sent to them as they were reported to be in jail in Canada. The reporting party recognized the call as a scam and did not provide any personal information and had no monetary loss.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in regards to a report of a suspicious person. Officers spoke with the reporting party and completed a report about the incident.
Officers responded to the School District #2 School Bus Yard, in reference to a report of a traffic complaint. Officers located the suspected driver and vehicle, Officers issued a citation for passing a school bus.
Officers were dispatched to the Green River Adult Probation and Parole Office, regarding an agency assist. At the office, Kristina Blount, age 23, was arrested per an Arrest and Hold Order for a Probation Violation on an original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, in regards to a report of parking complaints. Officers tagged the vehicles addressing the parking complaint.
Officers responded to an address on Cumorah Way, in reference to a report of a larceny. The reporting party stated items were taken from their residence. The case is under investigation.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on South 2nd East, in regards to a report of a dog at large.
Officers contacted an individual by telephone that had civil questions regarding property issues.
Officers responded to an address on East Railroad Avenue, in reference to a citizen assist.
Officers responded to an address on Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of lost property.
Officers were dispatched to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way, in regards to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers determined a verbal dispute occurred.
