Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on May 13, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on May 14, 2014:
Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, regarding a citizen assist.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Wyoming Drive, in regards to a report of two guinea pigs at large.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the horse corrals on East Teton Boulevard, in reference to a report of a white horse running loose.
Shamra Zancanella, age 28, was arrested for Driving While Under Suspension and issued a traffic citation.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Doe Drive, in reference to an alarm. Upon arrival, Officers contacted an individual at the address and reported the alarm was accidental.
Officers responded to an address on East 2nd North, in regards to a parking complaint. Officers addressed the violation with the owner.
Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at addresses on: Uinta Drive, Logan Street and Fox Hills Drive.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Trail Drive, in regards to a report of a dog at large. Animal Control Officers located a German Shepard and took the animal to the Green River Animal Shelter.
Officers assisted with a funeral escort from Monroe Avenue to the Riverview Cemetery.
Officers spoke with a resident on the phone regarding an attempted phone scam. The resident reported they received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Publisher’s Clearing House. The resident was told they needed to pay $300 with a check for taxes to claim their winnings. The reporting party recognized the scam and reported no monetary loss.
Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Uinta Drive.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a citizen assist.
Officers spoke with a resident on Andrews Street, in regards to a reported attempted phone scam. The resident reported they received a phone call from someone claiming to be from Publisher’s Clearing House. The resident was told they needed to pay $299 with a Green Dot Money Card for taxes to claim the $499,000 and Mercedes they won. The reporting party recognized the scam and reported no monetary loss.
Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Hitching Post Drive.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Homestead Drive, in reference to a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a Pit Bull, Boxer mix.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Maryland Drive, in reference to a found dog.
Officers were dispatched to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in regards to a report of suspicious activity. The reporting party advised prior to Officers arrival, juveniles were found playing around a man hole cover in the roadway.
Officers responded to an address on Arkansas Drive, in reference to a parking complaint.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to Scott’s Bottom Road, in regards to a report of a found puppy. Animal Control Officers located a Brindle Lab puppy.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Upland way, in regards to a report of a parking complaint. It was reported a vehicle was parked in the roadway.
Officers responded to an address on East 2nd North, in reference to a report of an assault. A report was written about the incident and the incident is still under investigation.
Officers assisted a law enforcement agency out of Utah in an attempt to locate an individual.
Officers responded to unsecured properties on Uinta Drive and Homestead Drive. Officers checked and secured the properties. Responsible persons for the properties were contacted and advised everything was okay.
