Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on May 20, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on May 21, 2014:
Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was tagged as abandoned.
Officers responded to an address on Wilson Street, in regards to a civil standby involving property.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, in regards to a report of a larceny. The reporting party stated an item from a towed vehicle was stolen from the property sometime during the last two weeks.
Officers responded to an address on Alabama Drive, in reference to a 911 call. Upon arrival, Officers determined the call was a result of an alarm being accidentally triggered.
Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Madison Avenue, regarding a report of a dog at large.
Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at two different locations on Uinta Drive.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a citizen assist.
Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a REDDI report on Uinta Drive.
Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at an address on Clark Street.
Sweetwater Bomb Squad members responded to an area in Sweetwater County at the request of a company regarding a possible live explosive. Bomb Squad members responded and rendered safe the device.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Juniper Street, regarding a report of a dog at large. Animal Control Officers located a medium sized black dog and the animal was returned to its owner.
Officers were dispatched to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a report of a suspicious person. Officers contacted the individual who reportedly had car problems. The individual returned to their vehicle which was operable and left the area.
Officers assisted another law enforcement agency in trying to locate an individual.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a report of injured rabbits.
Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, regarding a citizen assist.
Officers were dispatched to the Green River Adult Probation and Parole Office, in reference to an agency assist.
Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in regards to a report of a trespassing complaint.
Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Logan Street, in reference to a report of a dog at large. Animal Control Officers located a medium sized brown and white dog that was taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in regards to a parking complaint. Officers contacted the owner of the vehicle, who reported they were having vehicle problems.
Officers took a report of sexual abuse of a minor. The case is currently being investigated by the GRPD Detective Division.
Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a report of a suspicious person. Officers checked the area and the individual was not located.
Officers were dispatched to an address on East Teton Boulevard, in regards to a report of a disturbance. Officers contacted both parties who were advised of disturbing the peace.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Schultz Street, in reference to a found German Shepherd puppy with a collar and no tags. The puppy was taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.
Officers responded to the area of East Railroad Avenue, in regards to a report of trespassing. Officers located the individuals who were issued a trespass warning for the property.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a traffic complaint.
Officers observed two juveniles out after curfew at Expedition Island. The juveniles initially ran from Officers. The juveniles were issued citations for Curfew and Minor in Possession of Alcohol and released to their parents.
