Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on June 16, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on June 17, 2014:
Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a report of a larceny. Christopher Odom, age 32, was arrested for Shoplifting and Possession of Controlled Substance (marijuana).
Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at addresses on: Washington Street, Pheasant Drive, California Way and Evans Drive.
Officers were dispatched to an address on East Railroad Avenue, in regard to a report of trespassing. Officers contacted two individuals who were given trespass warnings for the property.
Officers responded to the Sweetwater County Courthouse, regarding an agency assist.
Officers responded to an address on Crossbow Drive, in reference to a civil standby regarding property.
Officers responded to an address on Shoshone Avenue, in regards to a report of fraud. The reporting party advised an individual was falsely using their name to receive medical care out of state. The reporting party made a report with the department having jurisdiction over the case but wanted to report it locally in case there are further issues.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Idaho Street, in reference to a report of an auto burglary. The reported party stated a window was left rolled down on their vehicle and a firearm was stolen from inside the vehicle.
Officers responded to an address on Crossbow Drive, regarding a trespass complaint. The resident wanted a trespass warning issued to an individual for the property. The individual was contacted and issued a trespass warning.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Wilkes Drive, in regards to a welfare check. Officers contacted the resident and reported they were okay.
Officers responded to an address on Monroe Avenue, in reference to a civil standby regarding property.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a report of harassment.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Andrews Street, in regards to a report of property damage. The reporting party advised a flower bed and yard decorations had been damaged.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department parking lot, in reference to a report of suspicious activity. The reporting party advised they had been followed through town by a vehicle. The reporting party stated that the vehicle following them left town east on I-80.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a report of shoplifting. The reporting party advised an individual took items without paying for them. Officers completed a report on the incident.
Officers responded to the area of Alabama Drive, in regards to a report of a juvenile problem. The reporting party stated juveniles were lighting fireworks in the area.
