Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on June 18, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on June 19, 2014:
Officers were dispatched to I-80 to assist with a vehicle crash on the interstate.
Officers responded to an address on Chugwater Drive, regarding a barking dog complaint. Officers posted a notice at the residence.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on West Railroad Avenue, in regards to a cat caught in a trap. The cat was taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.
Officers were contacted by a resident over the telephone that had civil questions. Officers advised the resident.
Officers were dispatched to an address on North Carolina Way, in reference to a fire alarm. Green River Fire Department personnel advised it was a false alarm.
Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and addresses on: Uinta Drive, East Railroad Avenue and Reynolds Street.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Wild Horse Canyon Road, in reference to a 911 hang up call. Upon arrival, Officers determined the call was accidental as a child was playing on the phone.
Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Uinta Drive, regarding a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a German Shepard.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in regards to a report of threats. The reporting party advised they received threatening text messages.
Officers were dispatched to an address on South Carolina Drive, in reference to a report of a larceny. The reporting party advised a bicycle had been stolen from their property.
Officers responded to an address on Sioux Circle, regarding a nuisance property.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in reference to a citizen assist. The resident turned in old fireworks to be destroyed.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Madison Avenue, in regards to a report of a disturbance.
Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a traffic complaint on Upland Way.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a disturbance. Officers spoke to the reporting party who wanted trespass warnings issued to two individuals for the property. Officers contacted the two individuals and issued the trespass warnings.
Officers were dispatched to the Green River Adult Probation and Parole Office, regarding an agency assist. At the office, Robert Harris, age 33, was arrested per an Arrest and Hold Order for a Probation Violation.
Officers responded to the area of Logan Street, in reference to a report of juveniles shooting toy guns in the area.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Colorado Circle, in regards to a report of an unsecured property. A neighbor reported a residence’s door was open and no one appeared to be home. Officer checked the area, secured the property and reported everything was okay.
Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a REDDI report on I-80. The vehicle reportedly exited into Green River.
Marshall Mechling, age 18, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance (marijuana), Possession of Controlled Substance (methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (spice) and Interference with a Peace Officer.
