Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on June 19, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on June 20, 2014:


Officers were dispatched to an address on West Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a report of a domestic dispute. Upon further investigation, Shawn Rivers, age 31, was arrested for Domestic Battery, Strangulation of a Household Member and Aggravated Assault.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Logan Street, in regards to a report of a dog at large. Animal Control Officers located the dog at its residence and spoke with the owner about the complaint.

Officers were dispatched to an address on North 1st East, in regards to an alarm. Upon arrival, Officers contacted a responsible party for the address and determined it was a false alarm.

Officer responded to an address on Idaho Street, regarding a welfare check. Officers contacted the individual who was reported to be okay.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on South Wagonwheel Drive.

Chelsea King, age 21, was arrested per an active Green River Municipal Court for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Hit and Run.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a traffic complaint on Uinta Drive.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of West Flaming Gorge Way, in regards to a report of an animal hit by a vehicle. Animal Control Officers checked the area and could not locate the vehicle described by the reporting party or an injured animal.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way, in regards to a report of a larceny. It was reported prior to Officers arrival the individual returned, paid for the items and left.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Knotty Pine Street, regarding a rabbit caught in a trap.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Wild Horse Canyon Road, in reference to a disturbance. The reporting party observed two people yelling.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a traffic complaint on I-80. The vehicle reportedly exited into Green River.

Officers responded to an address on Riverview Drive, regarding a civil standby involving property issues.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Schultz Street, in reference to a report of a found dog. The dog was taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a welfare check on individuals at the residence. The individuals were reported to be okay and a report was completed on the incident.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Hawaii Court, in regards to a barking dog complaint. Officers reported the neighborhood was quiet but posted a notice on the door. Officers later spoke with the resident who was advised of the complaint.

Officers responded to an address on Schultz Street, regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers determined a verbal dispute occurred.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a report of a possible stolen vehicle. Officers checked the vehicle and determined it was not stolen.

Officers contacted two juveniles out after curfew on Hitching Post Drive. The juveniles were given a warning and turned over to an adult.

Officers observed a disturbance in the roadway on East Railroad Avenue. Christopher Kersey, age 33, was arrested for Public Intoxication (3rd Offense) and Christopher Peterson age, 36, was arrested for Public Intoxication (1st Offense).
