An officer assigned to the Sweetwater County Bomb Squad responded to the abandoned Buckley Mine area at the East end of Rock Springs on 6/2/10 at approximately 1500 after mine reclamation contractors located approximately 100 pounds of abandoned explosives. Members of the Bomb Squad rendered the area safe by destroying the explosives without incident. Interstate traffic in the area was diverted for approximately 20 minutes as a safety precaution.

Officers responded to a burglary on Clark Street on 6/16/10 at 2004 hours. The reporting party stated household items were removed from his residence without his knowledge during the past week. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Officers responded to a residence on West 4th North Street on 6/16/10 at 2120 hours to check on the welfare of a juvenile at the residence. The juvenile was located and was not in any immediate danger. The person requesting the check was notified.

Officers responded to a report of property destruction on Shoshone Ave. on 6/15/10 at 1332 hours. It was determined a brick had been thrown against the trunk of a parked vehicle causing extensive damage to the vehicle. Anyone who witnessed this incident is encouraged to contact the Green River Police Department.
