Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on June 30, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on July 1, 2014:
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department, regarding a report of a lost cell phone. The reporting party lost property at Stratton Myer Park. The item was turned into the police department and returned to the owner.
Officers responded to an address on East Teton Boulevard, in regards to a report of harassment. The reporting party advised receiving harassing telephone calls.
Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at addresses on: Boulder Drive, Hitching Post Drive, West 3rd North.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Hackberry Street, regarding a report of an animal in a trap.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Cumorah Way, in reference to a barking dog complaint. Animal Control Officers completed a report regarding the incident.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department, regarding a report of found property. A driver’s license and jewelry were found at Stratton Myer Park. The driver’s license was returned to the owner. The jewelry’s owner has yet to be identified.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Wilkes Drive, in reference to a report of a parking complaint. Officers attempted to contact the owner but were unable to and tagged the vehicle.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Trail Drive, in reference to a dog that wandered into a yard. The dog was described as a large dog; the owner could not be contacted and the dog was taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Crossbow Drive, in reference to a report of suspicious activity. The reporting party advised an unknown person used their social security number to file taxes. It was reported it may have been a typographical error. Officers completed a report about the incident.
Officers responded to an address on Wyoming Drive, regarding nuisance property. Officers posted a notice at the residence.
Officers assisted the Green River Fire Department with traffic control at an address on Trona Drive, regarding a gas leak.
Officers responded to an address on South 5th East, in regards to a report of suspicious activity.
Officers transported an inmate from the Sweetwater County Detention Center to the Green River Municipal Court.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department, in reference to a report of threats. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.
Officers responded to an address on Clark Street, regarding nuisance property. Officers contacted the owner of the property who was advised of the ordinance.
Officers responded to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a report of property destruction. The reporting party stated flowers from a garden had been damaged.
Officers responded to an address on Elm Street, regarding an agency assist.
Officers were dispatched to an address on South Center Street, regarding an agency assist. Officers assisted Department of Family Services regarding a welfare check.
Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Clark Street.
Officers were dispatched to an address on North 4th East, in reference to a parking complaint.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Schultz Street, in regards to a report of a cat in a trap.
Officers were dispatched to an address on North 4th West, in reference to citizen assist.
Joseph Kunkle, age 30, was arrested per an active Green River Municipal Court Warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Disturbing the Peace.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department, in reference to a citizen assist. The resident had questions regarding civil issues.
Officers were dispatched to an address on East Teton Boulevard, in regards to a report of a juvenile problem. Officers contacted the juveniles and addressed the complaint.
Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Mansface Street.
Officers responded to an address on Logan Street, in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with juveniles who were being loud and out after curfew. The juveniles were issued warnings and returned to their parents.
