Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on July 28, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on
July 29, 2014:
Officers were dispatched to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in reference to a report of suspicious persons sleeping on the property. Upon arrival, Officers contacted two individuals who were determined to be runaway juveniles.
Officers responded to the area of Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a German Shepherd.
Officers were dispatched to an address on West 5th North, in reference to a 911 call. Upon arrival, Officers contacted employees at the address who accidently set the alarm off.
Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and addresses on: East 4th South, East Flaming Gorge Way and North 5th West.
Officers responded to an address on West Railroad Avenue, in regards to a report of a missing person.
Officers were dispatched to a business on Uinta Drive, in reference to a report of an attempted scam and terroristic threat. The reporting party received a phone call from a male with a foreign accent who attempted to have the person put money onto a Green Dot prepaid card. The caller then said he was parked in the parking lot, had a bomb in his car and would detonate it if money was not put on the Green Dot cards. The business was aware of numerous calls like this to other stores in the organization, reported there were no cars in the parking lot and refused the demand. Upon arrival, Officers searched the area, did not locate any bombs, materials or packages. This incident was similar to numerous similar telephone threats made to various retailers and drug stores nationwide.
Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Wilson Street, regarding a barking dog complaint. Animal Control Officers contacted the dog’s owner and gave them a warning.
Officers spoke with an individual by telephone, regarding a civil issue.
Officers responded to an address on Wilderness Trail, in regards to a trespassing complaint. The reporting party wanted a trespass warning issued to two individuals for the property.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Clark Street, in reference to a report of a two vehicle crash. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the driver who reported they backed into a parked and unoccupied vehicle.
Officers spoke with a resident by telephone in reference to civil issues.
Officers responded to the area of West Flaming Gorge Way, in regards to a report of suspicious persons. Officers contacted the individuals and reported everything was okay.
Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in regards to a report of harassment. Officers addressed the issue with the reporting party.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Trona Drive, in reference to a 911 call. Upon arrival, Officers checked the property and reported the call appeared to be a line problem.
Officers responded to an address on Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of a juvenile problem. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the reporting party and the juveniles involved. Officers completed a report in reference to malicious mischief.
Officers responded to the Green River Police Department, in reference to a report of harassment. The reporting party received harassing phone calls from an unknown and out of state number.
Officers were dispatched to an address on Wilkes Drive, regarding a report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, Officers observed the individual and reported everything was okay.
Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Upland Way, in reference to two dogs at large. Animal Control Officers located a Yellow Labrador and Retriever; both were taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.
Officers located a vehicle described in a traffic complaint on South Dakota Street and addressed the complaint with the driver.
Officers were dispatched to an address on East 2nd North, regarding a welfare check. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the individual and reported the individual was fine.
Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive, in reference to disturbance. Officers reported a verbal dispute occurred at the residence.
Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a noise complaint on Bridger Drive.
Officers responded to an address on South Carolina Drive, in reference to a report of violation of a court order. Officers spoke with the reporting party and completed a report regarding the incident.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of a disturbance. Officers spoke with parties involved and released a juvenile to a parent.
Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post Drive, regarding a civil standby.
Officers were dispatched to the area of East Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a REDDI report. Officers located the vehicle described in the REDDI report. The driver was not intoxicated but was found to be talking on a cell phone.
