Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on August 19, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on
August 20, 2014:


Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at addresses on: West Teton Boulevard, West Flaming Gorge Way and South Wagonwheel Drive.

Officers responded to an address on Honor Way, in regards to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area.

Officers were dispatched to the Green River Adult Probation and Parole Office, in reference to an agency assist. At the office, Officers contacted Amanda Stanhope, age 31, who was arrested per an active Sweetwater County Warrant on an original charge of Theft.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Clark Street, regarding a found kitten.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a civil issue.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Cumorah Way, in reference to a report of a two vehicle crash. Officers reported a vehicle was backing out of a parking spot and struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers responded to an address on Wyoming Drive, in regards to a report of property destruction. The reporting party stated a vehicle at the residence was damaged.

Officers responded to the area of Uinta Drive near Monroe Avenue, in reference to a two vehicle crash. It was reported one vehicle was traveling south on Uinta Drive and while entering the turning lane was struck by another vehicle entering the roadway from a parking lot.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in reference to a report of a scam. The reporting party was contacted by an individual over the phone who claimed to be with Publisher’s Clearing House. The caller stated the reporting party won $2 million dollars and a new car and in order to claim the prize they needed to pay $1500 dollars. The $1500 dollars was to be put onto Paypal card and the number on the back of the card needed to be read over the phone to the caller. The caller was reported to have a foreign accent and the origin of the area code (876) the call came from was Jamaica.


Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Clark Street, regarding two dogs at large. Animal Control Officers located where the dogs belonged and the owner was in the process of fixing the fence.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Doe Drive, in reference to a report of a suspicious person. Officers contacted the individual who was going to door to door trying to sell items without a permit. Officers advised the individual of the city ordinance regarding door to door sales.

Officers contacted a resident by telephone that had questions regarding past unreported incidents.

Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in regards to a report of a juvenile problem. The reporting party stated juveniles were climbing in a tree.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a report of two suspicious vehicles. Officers were unable to locate the described vehicles.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Illinois Court, in regarding a noise complaint. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with residents in the area some who reported they heard a gunshot and others reported after the noise they observed a fireworks display.

Officers were dispatched to an address on North Riverbend Drive, in reference to a report of a disturbance. Kenneth Oney, age 42, was arrested for Disturbing the Peace and Resisting Arrest. Also at the residence McKenlie Oney, age 18, was arrested for Disturbing the Peace and Resisting Arrest.

Officers responded to the area of West 2nd South, in regards to a report of a vehicle collision. The motorist collided with deer in the roadway.
