Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.


The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on August 22, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on August 23, 2014:

Officers responded to an address on East 5th South, in reference to a civil standby regarding property.

Officers assisted a motorist on Uinta Drive.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Trail Drive, regards to a welfare check. The reporting party was concerned about the resident as they had not heard from them in a while. The resident was located and reported to be okay.

Officers responded to the Adult Green River Probation and Parole Office, regarding an agency assist.

Officers responded to an address on Hitching Post, in regards to a two vehicle crash. It was reported a vehicle stopped at an intersection and the vehicle behind failed to stop and struck the back of the vehicle. One driver was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

Animal Control Officers contacted a resident by telephone that had questions regarding animal issues regarding cats and dogs.

Officers responded to an address on Iowa Avenue, in regards to a report of nuisance property.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Birch Street, regarding a report of a suspicious odor. Officers checked the residence and reported everything was okay.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at an address on Davy Crockett Drive.

Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in reference to a welfare check. The individual was contacted by the concerned party and reported to be okay.

Officers were dispatched to an address on East Flaming Gorge Way, in regards to a report of property destruction. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the reporting party and determined there was no damage to the property.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a vehicle crash. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the driver who reported they attempted to stop in a parking spot in front of a business and thought they stepped on the brake pedal. However, the vehicle continued forward and struck the business. The business and vehicle sustained damage but no injuries were reported by the driver.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to an address on Bramwell Street, in reference to a report of a found dog at large. The dog was described as a male boxer or pit-bull. The dog was taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection on West Flaming Gorge Way and North 7th West, in reference to a two vehicle crash. It was reported a vehicle attempted to turn left after stopping at a stop sign on North 7th West and was struck by a vehicle traveling west on Flaming Gorge Way. One of the drivers was issued a citation for Failure to Utilize Child Restraints.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in regards to a welfare check.

Officers responded to an address on East Railroad Avenue, in reference to a subject removal. Upon arrival, Officers contacted an individual who was asked to leave the property at the request of a responsible party for the address.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Wilson Street, regarding a traffic complaint. Officers located the vehicle and addressed the complaint with the driver.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Uinta Drive and East 2nd South, in regards to a report of a hit and run vehicle crash. The reporting party stated they were parked in traffic, waiting to turn west, when their vehicle was rear ended by a vehicle that left the area.

Officers responded to an address on Sioux Circle, regarding a barking dog complaint. Officers contacted the owner of the dog who was given a warning.


The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on August 23, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on
August 24, 2014:


Officers responded to the area of Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of two dogs at large. The dogs were described as a black dog and the other was a tan dog.

Officers were dispatched to the Adult Green River Probation and Parole Office, in reference to an agency assist. At the office, Matthew Johnson, age 26, was arrested per an Arrest and Hold Order for a Probation Violation.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Cedar Circle, in reference to a 911 hang up call. Upon arrival, Officers reported everything was okay and the call was accidental.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Pawnee Circle, in regards to a report of two dogs at large. One dog was described as a Mastiff and the other was described as a Labrador.

Officers completed a funeral escort from an address on Hitching Post Drive.

Officers responded to an address on Doe Drive, in reference to a report of an unsecured property. Officers checked the property, contacted the owner, secured the property and reported everything was okay.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a REDDI report on Uinta Drive.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a suspicious circumstance. The reporting party stated they gave personal information out for a business service and has yet to receive the service. Officers completed a report about the incident.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Maryland Drive and Tennessee Drive, regarding a nuisance animal complaint. Officers contacted a resident at Maryland Drive who received a warning and posted a notice at an address on Tennessee Drive.

Micah Brandner, age 39, was arrested per an active Sweetwater County Warrant for Failure to Pay on an original charge of Driving While Under Suspension.

Officers responded to an address on South 2nd East, in regards to a report of a hit and run vehicle crash. The reporting party reported an unknown vehicle damaged her vehicle left quarter panel. Officers completed a report on the incident.

Officers were dispatched to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the involved parties who reported they had a verbal dispute.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a REDDI report on East Flaming Gorge Way.

Officers responded to an address on Aspen Street, regarding a barking dog complaint.

Officers responded to the area of East 4th South, in reference to a REDDI report. Officers located the described vehicle and reported no driving violations.

Officers responded to an address on West Teton Boulevard, in reference to a welfare check on two dogs. Officers reported the dogs were okay.


The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on August 24, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on August 25, 2014:

Officers responded to the area of California Drive, in regards to a report of a dog at large. Officers located the dog and it was returned to its owner.

Officers responded to an address on East 3rd South, regarding a citizen assist involving a utility issue.

Officers contacted a resident over the phone who wanted to report an accidental damage from a week ago.

Officers responded to the area of Wilson Street, in reference to a traffic complaint. Officers observed the complaint and issued a citation for careless driving.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Wilkes Drive, in regards to a report of malicious mischief. The reporting party stated their vehicle was damaged by unknown persons climbing on it.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Monroe Avenue, in regards to a dog at large. The dog was described as a white and brown dog.

Officers were dispatched to an address on South Carolina Drive, in reference to a civil standby regarding child custody. Officers completed a report about the incident.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Evers Street, regarding a found dog. The dog was as a Chocolate Labrador.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Sundance Drive, in reference to an alarm. Upon arrival, Officers contacted an individual at the address, reported everything was okay and the call was accidental.

Officers responded to an address on Wilkes Drive, regarding a report of threats.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Uinta and Riverview Drive, in reference to a report of a three vehicle crash. Upon further investigation involving the crash, John Baker, age 65, was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol.

Officers responded to an address on Hillside Drive, regarding a report of a criminal entry. Upon further investigation, it was determined there was a miscommunication and no crime occurred.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Colorado Circle, in reference to an alarm. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the resident and reported the alarm was accidental.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in regards to a found dog. The dog was described as a pit-bull without a collar.

Officers responded to an address on East Teton Boulevard, in reference to a report of a larceny. Officers spoke with the reporting party who did not want to file a report regarding the incident.

Officers responded to an address on Wilderness Trail, regarding a juvenile problem. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the involved parties.

Jesus Flores, age 25, was arrested for Public Intoxication.

Officers dispatched to an address on Jensen Street, in reference to a report of a missing person. Officers contacted the individual who was not missing and reported to be okay.

Officers responded to an address on Bridger Drive, in regards to a report of found property. Officers located a bicycle, if you’ve lost a bicycle contact the Green River Police Department to see if this is yours.

Officers located two unsecured properties on Uinta Drive and Faith Drive. Officers checked the properties, secured the properties and reported everything was okay.
