Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on August 28, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on
August 29, 2014:


Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Cliff View Drive, in regards to a report of a contained dog. Animal Control Officers located a Bulldog at the residence.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Ironwood Street, in regards to a report of a raccoon caught in a trap.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Mansface Street.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Idaho Street, regarding a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a black dog with a collar.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at addresses on California Drive and Hitching Post Drive.

Animal Control Officers took a call regarding a lost cat. The cat was described as a little white cat with black spots on its back.

Officers responded to the area of Cumorah Way, in reference to a report of an abandoned vehicle. Officers contacted an individual regarding the vehicle who advised they would move it.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Trona Drive, in reference to a disturbance. It was reported a verbal dispute occurred regarding a traffic complaint. One party reported damage to their vehicle. A report was completed regarding the incident.

Officers were dispatched to an address on North 1st West, in reference to a report of suspicious activity. The reporting party stated unknown individuals were at a property with the resident not there. Upon arrival, Officers contacted individuals who were allowed to be on the property.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in reference to a report of child neglect. Officers completed an initial report regarding the incident that is currently under investigation.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of East Teton Boulevard, regarding a report of a dog at large.

Officers responded to an address on West 5th North, in reference to a report of a juvenile problem.

Officers responded to addresses on Monroe Avenue, Greasewood Street and Mountain View Street in reference to reports of a nuisance property.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Bridger Drive, regarding a traffic complaint. Officers located the described vehicle and the driver was contacted and the complaint addressed.

Officers responded to an address on Monroe Avenue, in reference to a report of a juvenile problem. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers responded to an address on Shoshone Avenue, in reference to a report of harassment.

Arthur Maestas, age 54, was arrested for assault stemming from a domestic dispute.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Medicine Bow, regarding a citizen assist. The reporting party was concerned about utility work being done in the area.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of East Teton Boulevard, in regards to a report of a dog at large.

Officers assisted Castle Rock Ambulance personnel at an address on Bridger Drive.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Wilson Street, in reference to an alarm. Upon arrival, Officers determined it was a false alarm.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Uinta Drive, in reference to a 911 hang up call. Officers contacted a resident who reported the call was accidental.

Officers responded to an address on West Railroad Avenue, regarding a citizen assist.

Officers were dispatched to the area of East Railroad Avenue, in regards to a report of trespassing. Upon arrival, Officers contacted individuals who were given trespass warnings for Union Pacific Railroad property.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a REDDI report on Uinta Drive.
