Chris Steffen, Chief of Police reports:

The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following events were reported between 6:00 a.m. on September 4, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on September 5, 2014:


Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in reference to an individual who believed they had a warrant. Upon arrival, Officers contacted Conrad Stephenson, age 19, who was arrested per an active Sweetwater County Warrant for a Probation Violation on an original charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Wilderness Trail, in regards to a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a pit-bull.

Officers responded to an address on East Teton Boulevard, regarding a traffic complaint. Officers contacted the driver and addressed the complaint.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a small black and brown dog.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of Expedition Island, in regards to a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a German Shepherd.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of South 5th East, in regards to a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a Rottweiler.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, in reference to a report of lost property. Officers completed a report regarding the incident.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Mansface Street, in reference to a medical alarm. Officers reported the alarm was accidental.

Officers responded to the area of Monroe Avenue, regarding a noise complaint of loud music.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Bridger Drive, in reference to a two vehicle traffic collision. The reporting party stated they were backing out of a driveway and collided with another vehicle.

Officers completed VIN inspections at the Green River Police Department and at addresses on; East Flaming Gorge Way and Colorado Drive.

Officers responded to the area of East Flaming Gorge Way and Uinta Drive, in regards to a report of a dog at large. The dog was described as a Golden Retriever.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Riverview Drive, in reference to a report of accidental damage. It was reported equipment caused minor damage to the asphalt.

Officers contacted a resident by telephone that had concerns someone was using their vehicle without permission.

Officers responded to the Green River Police Department lobby, regarding a civil issue.

Officers responded to an address on Shoshone Avenue, regarding a funeral escort.

Officers responded to an address on South 4th East, in regards to a report of an abandoned vehicle.

Officers attempted to locate a vehicle described in a traffic complaint on Monroe Avenue.

Officers responded to the area of West 5th North, in reference to a traffic complaint. Officers located the vehicle and two citations were issued.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on South 4th West, in reference to a found dog. The dog was described as a Golden Retriever. The dog was taken to the Green River Animal Shelter.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Monroe Avenue, in regards to a report of a juvenile problem. Upon arrival, Officers determined the call was not juvenile problem but a citizen assist.

Officers responded to an address on Crossbow Drive, in reference to a welfare check. Officers checked on the individual and reported the individual was okay.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Uinta Drive and East Flaming Gorge Way, in reference to a welfare check. Officers checked on the individual and reported they were okay.

Animal Control Officers responded to the area of East 4th South, in regards to a report of two dogs at large. Upon arrival, Animal Control Officers were unable to locate the dogs.

Officers contacted a resident by telephone regarding a citizen assist.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the Green River Municipal Horse Corrals, in reference to a report of a horse being mistreated. Animal Control Officers responded to the area and reported the complaint was unfounded.

Officers contacted an individual by telephone that had questions regarding vehicles that were parked in a parking lot in Green River.

Animal Control Officers responded to an address on Hoback Street, regarding a barking dog complaint. Animal Control Officers completed a report about the incident.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Alabama Drive, in reference to a report of two missing juveniles. The juveniles took longer getting home than normal. The juveniles were located, reported to be okay and returned home.

Officers were dispatched to the area of East Teton Boulevard, in reference to a report of an individual that was bleeding. Officers contacted the individual who was reported to be okay and had bloody nose due to dry climate.

Officers were dispatched to the area of New Mexico Street, in reference to a REDDI report. Officers located the vehicle which had also been reported to be in a traffic collision. Marla Butcher, age 35, was arrested for Driving While Under the Influence.

Officers were dispatched to an address on East Teton Boulevard, regarding a disturbance. Officers contacted juveniles in the area that were working on bicycles.

Officers were dispatched to an address on Daniel Boone Drive, in reference to a report of a missing person. The juvenile was located at a friend’s house and reported to be okay.

Officers responded to city hall, in reference to an alarm. Officers checked the building reported everything was okay and the alarm was accidental.

Officers responded to the area of Trona Drive, in reference to a traffic complaint.

Officers responded to an unsecured property at an address East 3rd South. Officers checked the property, contacted a responsible party and the property was secured.
