Officers responded to a report of an attempted scam. The reporting party received a phone call from an individual who was reported to be with Publisher's Clearing House. The caller stated the reporting party won $950,000 and a Mercedes. The reporting party was told to purchase a Green Dot or moneypak and to call the individual back to pay taxes on the winning. The call came from a phone number with an 876 area code (area code for Jamaica). The reporting party recognized this as a scam and did not give out any personal information and reported no monetary loss.
