Officers met an individual at the police department, in reference to an attempted IRS scam. The reporting party received a call from an individual with a foreign accent claiming to be an IRS agent who told the reporting party they owed money for back taxes. The reporting party was threatened by the caller that officers would be sent to arrest them if the money was not paid immediately. The caller became verbally aggressive and wanted the reporting party to give them bank account information and passwords. The reporting party did not provide any information to the caller and reported no monetary loss.
