Joey Ray Maestas, age 28, of Green River was arrested on 9/4/11 at 23:45 hours on Windriver Drive for Strangulation of a Family Member and Domestic Battery. Officers responded to an abandoned 911 call and subsequent investigation showed Maestas was involved in a physical domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend in which he punched, kicked and strangled her. Maestas was taken into custody and transported to jail.
Ben C Schultz, age 23, of Green River was arrested on 9/3/11 at 02:17 hours on Logan Street for Driving While Intoxicated and Improper Lane Use. Schultz was stopped for a lane use violation and subsequent investigation showed him to be intoxicated while driving. Schultz was taken into custody and transported to jail.
Aaron M Garver, age 35, of Camino Island Washington, was arrested on 9/4/11 at 04:01 hours on E Flaming Gorge Way for Public Intoxication. Officers were dispatched to Buckaroos Restaurant regarding a subject attempting to enter the restaurant while it was closed for business. Garver was contacted and taken into custody when officers discovered he was intoxicated.
Veronica Villegas, age 39, of Green River was cited for Improper Lane Use and Driving While Suspended on 9/4/11 at 02:26 hours on E Teton Blvd. Officers stopped the Villegas vehicle for a lane use violation and a driver’s license check showed her license was suspended. Villegas was cited and released.
Michael Garcia, age 26, of Green River was cited for Disturbing the Peace and Riding a Toy Vehicle on 9/3/11 at 03:00 hours on Monroe Ave. Garcia was contacted after a traffic complaint was investigated and he was cited for the above violations and released.
Officers were dispatched to a report of a bar fight behind the Mast Lounge when a male and female advised they attempted to break up a fight. Witness reported a male was hitting a female when another couple tried to stop it and subsequently got into a fight with the male subject who was hitting the female. The suspect and victim from the original fight were gone when police arrived and the incident is currently under investigation.
A Larceny report was taken at the Maverick store when it was reported a female subject pumped $10.03 in gas and left without paying. The female was described in her late teens or early twenties with red hair and the vehicle ws described as a black sports car. Anyone with information please call the GRPD at 872-0555.
A report of Domestic Battery was investigated on Wilkes drive when the female half called police after being punched and slapped by her boyfriend. The male half left the scene prior to the police arriving. A report was forwarded to the County Attorney for review.
A report of a verbal domestic dispute was taken on N Riverbend Ave and no injuries were reported.
A Disturbing the Peace warning was issued on Monroe Ave. A Juvenile problem was reported on Bridger Drive.
Officers were dispatched to a report of a fire on E 2nd N and the fire department extinguished the garbage can that caught fire.
Suspicious Circumstances were reported on W Flaming Gorge Way when a subject left a motel room in disarray with copper wire casings and a bicycle. The suspect has not been contacted and the incident in still pending further investigation.
