Rueben Rodriguez, 20 years old of Green River was arrested at his residence on an arrest warrant issued by the Sweetwater County Circuit Court in Green River. The warrant was issued because Rodriguez failed to maintain contact with his attorney which was a violation of bond conditions of the original charge of Battery and Violation of a Protection Order. Rodriguez was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center where he was booked into jail without incident.

Officers were dispatched to the municipal horse corrals to a report of five horses loose in the area. Officers were able to keep the horses out of traffic until the owner arrived and returned the horses to the their corral.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel at the Sweetwater County Court House where an elderly male fell on ice. The victim was transported to the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County by ambulance for treatment.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel at a residence on W. Flaming Gorge where a 47 year old female was having chest pains. The victim was transported by ambulance to the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County for treatment.

Animal Control Officers assisted a citizen who came into the police department with questions about their pet.

Officers assisted the Fire Department at a fire alarm at the new combined dispatch center which is still under construction at 5 Shoshone. The alarm was accidental.

Officers investigated an accident that occurred near the horse corrals. Stacy Thompson, 36 years old of Rock Springs was driving her 2011 Chevrolet passenger car near the horse corrals when a large gust of wind blew a garbage container into her car causing minor damage to the passenger side of the car.

Officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm at the Expedition Island Pavilion. The alarm was accidental.

Officers investigated a report of suspicious telephone calls received by a resident on Evans St. The victim received two calls from a person claiming to be from a talent agency requesting the victim’s child participate in interviews at a hotel in Salt Lake City. After the caller offered limited information about these interviews and was vague about the location of the supposed interviews, the victim notified police. The case is being referred to the Salt Lake City Police for further investigation.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel at a residence on Knotty Pine St. A 67 year old female thought she was having a heart attack. The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater county for treatment.

Officers were dispatched to Trona Drive to a report of a suspicious person in the area. The subject was not located.

Officers were dispatched to a parking complaint on the 200 block of E. Flaming Gorge. The vehicle in question was gone upon officers arrival.

Officers discovered a damage to a guard rail at the west end of the underpass and debris from an obvious hit and run accident that had occurred there. Left at the crash scene were a tire and wheel and part of an axle. Officers followed the gouges in the pavement east and found a black and gray 2006 GMC pickup parked on S. 4 W. The pickup had extensive damage to the passenger side, missing the right front tire and had a flat rear tire. Officers found the owner passed out in the driver’s seat. The driver did not respond to repeated knocks on the driver’s window and only regained consciousness after he was shaken by the officer. The driver was identified as Richard Porter, 33 years old of Green River. Porter claimed he didn’t know anything about the crash refused any medical treatment. Porter was eventually arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and hit and run. Porter was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center where he was booked into jail.
