William A Matzner, age 65, of Lancaster CA, was arrested on 4/1/12 at 01:23 hours on E Flaming Gorge Way for Driving While Intoxicated. Officers were dispatched to the Wild Horse Bar parking lot regarding a crash. Subsequent investigation showed Matzner was intoxicated at the time of the crash and he was taken into custody and transported to jail. A search warrant was secured and a breath test showed Matzner’s blood alcohol concentration at nearly double the legal limit.
Lucas E Staggs, age 20, of Green River was arrested on 3/31/12 at 02:15 hours on Wilkes Drive for Strangulation of a Family Member and Assault. Officers were dispatched to a Domestic Battery and subsequent investigation showed Staggs had assaulted and strangled his girlfriend into unconsciousness during the altercation. Staggs was taken into custody and resisted arrest. Staggs was also charged with Interference with a Police Officer and Minor Under the Influence of Alcohol.
A Grand Larceny report was taken on W Railroad Ave when the victim reported his yellow 1968 Ford Bronco was stolen from his back yard while he was out of town. The theft is under investigation and anyone with information please call the GRPD at 872-0555.
A report of Battery was taken on Schultz Street when the victim advised he was assaulted at Club 86 earlier that morning and refused medical treatment and did not wish to pursue charges at that time. The victim stated he had since seen a doctor due to his having double vision and learned he sustained broken cheek bone. The victim stated he wanted to now press charges against the suspect.
A Larceny report was taken on Mountain Fuel Station when the reporting party advised his wife had taken their vehicle and left with groceries intended for his mother and will not return home with the groceries.
Officers investigated a crash at the Hilltop Baptist Church parking lot when a car driven by a 17 year old female backed into a parked car owned by Wayne Davis. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at under $1000 each and no injuries were reported.
Officers investigated a Hit and Run crash on Bramwell Street when an unknown vehicle struck a parked Ford pickup truck owned by Richelle McDonald. Damage to the McDonald truck was estimated at under $1000. Anyone with information please call the GRPD at 872-0555.
A Hit and Run crash was reported at the Hampton Inn parking lot when an unknown vehicle struck a parked white GMC Acadia owned by Budget Car Rentals out of Denver Colorado. Damage to the Acadia was estimated at under $1000. Anyone with information please call the GRPD at 872-0555.

Officers assisted Department of Family Services’ personnel with a welfare check on W Flaming Gorge Way on a 7 year old; he was found to be in good health.
A Fraud report was taken at the police department when the potential victim advised he received a check in the mail and when he attempted to deposit the check he was informed it was fraudulent.
Officers assisted ambulance personnel on Logan Street with a 45 year old female having trouble with the dosage of her prescribed medication.
Suspicious Circumstances were reported on Wyoming Drive when the reporting party advised gunshots were heard. Officers checked the area with negative results.
A Malicious Mischief report was taken on Logan Street when the victim advised someone broke out the front passenger window of his tan 1990 Dodge Spirit on 3/31/12 between 12:30 am and 08:30 am. Anyone with information please call the GRPD at 872-0555.
A verbal domestic dispute was reported on Ironwood Street; no report of physical violence was reported.
A verbal domestic dispute was reported on Riverview Drive; no signs of a physical altercation were reported.
A Disturbing the Peace warning was issued on South Carolina Street when the suspect was reported performing “burnouts” on his motorcycle.
A verbal domestic dispute was reported on Shoshone Ave; there were no signs of a physical altercation.
A verbal domestic dispute was reported on Wilderness Trail; there were no signs of a physical altercation.
Officers assisted ambulance personnel at the Green River Recreation Center with an 83 year old male who reportedly collapsed, was unconscious and not breathing. Officers learned a Recreation Center employee, Kathleen “Katie” Blood, who is certified in CPR, was informed of the situation by third party. Katie responded to assist the victim and after evaluating his condition began to perform CPR on the victim. After a short period of time, he was able to start breathing on his own. The male was then transported to Memorial Hospital.
Officers assisted ambulance personnel on Louisiana Way with a 48 year old female who was having a reaction to a change of medications.
Officers assisted ambulance personnel with a child who reportedly was coughing up blood.
Officers assisted ambulance personnel on Uinta Drive with a 73 year old female who had fallen and was bleeding from the head.
