Officers investigated a Hit and Run Crash on Shoshone Ave when a car driven by a 17 year old female failed to negotiate the curve by the LDS Stake Center because of excessive speed at which the car was traveling. The report stated the vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest on its wheels. The driver and passenger fled the scene prior to police arrival and were later located after an hour and a half search hiding under a camp trailer two blocks from the crash scene.
The driver was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of a Crash and Interference with a Police Officer. The passenger, a 17 year old male, was also arrested and charged Underage Consumption and Possession of Narcotics Equipment. He was later released to a parent. Both juveniles sustained minor injuries and refused treatment.
Officers investigated a report of an Auto Burglary on Michigan Street when the owner of a black Ford F 250 advised someone entered their truck and stole items values in excess of $1000. Anyone with information please call the GRPD at 872-0555.
A 1986 GMC pickup truck owned by Shane Johnson was towed by Wild Card towing from Evers Street as it was parked in a manner that was causing a traffic hazard.
Officers investigated a Hit and Run crash on N 1st W when a car owned by Joe Andreozzi struck a parked truck owned by Avis Rentals. Damage to the Avis car was estimated at under $1000 and damage to the Andreozzi car is unknown at this time. The Andreozzi car was located in Reliance Wyoming but Mr. Andreozzi was unavailable at that time. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
Officers investigated a crash on Hitching Post Drive when a pickup truck driven by Jack Covington backed into a pickup truck owned by Clifford Morris. Damage to both pickup trucks was estimated at over $1000 each and no injuries were reported. Covington was cited for Improper Backing.
Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a cat in a trap on E 3rd S.
A five day parking complaint was taken on W Virginia Place; the vehicle was tagged.
Officers assisted Probation and Parole agents by witnessing clients’ drug tests on Commercial Way.
Officers assisted ambulance personnel on at Castle Rock Medical Center with a 77 year old female suffering from nausea.
Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a stray cat at Riverside Nursery.
Officers responded to a report of a Shots Fired complaint in Telephone Canyon; the subjects were gone when police arrived.
Officers assisted ambulance personnel on Wilderness Trail with a 53 year old male having difficulty breathing.
