Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Springview Dr. to a report of a dog barking. Officers found a herd of deer moving through the area which appeared to be upsetting the neighborhood dogs.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Iowa Circle to a report of a dog at large. The owner of the dog was located and a verbal warning issued.
Officers investigated a burglary report from a resident on the 2200 block of Cumorah Way. The burglary occurred at a rented storage unit in which the locks were removed and property was removed from inside the unit. The case remains under investigation.
Officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Hitching Post Dr. to a report of a parking violation. Officers contacted the owner of the trailer that was the source of the complaint and the trailer was moved.
Officers were dispatched to assist with the administration of drug analysis of probationers at the office of Wyoming Department of Probation and Parole. Steven Stevenson, 22 years old of Rock Springs received a citation for a positive result of his drug analysis.
Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Juniper St. to a report of citizen dispute. The dispute arose over neighbors using a rented trash dumpster by another neighbor. The people involved were contacted and verbal warning issued.
Animal Control Officers were dispatched to a dog at large on Anvil Drive. A Golden Retriever was impounded.
Officers met with a citizen at the police department concerning a possible fraud. The victim going to buy a vehicle listed on the internet and was alerted by the victim’s bank the transaction appeared to by fraudulent. The Green River Police Department wants citizens to be aware of internet scams. The Green River Police Department recommends citizens stay away from “offers to good to be true” and to only send money by Western Union or MoneyGram to persons the citizen knows. Western Union and MoneyGram money transfers are often used by criminals and once the money is sent by these methods, it is usually impossible to recover those monies. The Green River Police Departmet also has pamphlets available to citizens to help educate them of these schemes.
Edward Riggs, 30 years old and formerly of Rock Springs was arrested for Public Intoxication at 280 Monroe Ave. Riggs was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center where he was booked into jail. Riggs received a citation with a mandatory appearance into Green River Municipal Court.Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of N. Wagonwheel to a report of a dog at large. The owner of the dog was contacted and a verbal warning was given.

Officers took a malicious mischief report from a resident on New Hampshire. The victim had left a motorcycle in the Smith’s Grocery Store parking lot for sale and someone tampered with the motorcycle while it was parked there.
