The Green River City Council held a special City Council Meeting in Council Chambers on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 3:30 pm.to discuss the field of City Administrator candidates for the City of Green River.
Mayor Hank Castillon said that five candidates had been interviewed for the City Administrator position. Castillon noted that in following the Wyoming Open Meetings Law that no decisions were made on which candidates would be selected to narrow down the field.
"That is why we're holding this special council meeting," said Castillon, "so that we can publicly acknowledge that we have interviewed five candidates and that we must now narrow the field to two candidates."
Castillon entertained a motion to move to Executive Session for council to narrow the scope of the number of candidates. The motion was presented by Councilman Tom McCullough and seconded by Councilwoman Lisa Maes. Councilman Adam Coppolo was the only Councilman absent from the meeting.
The Council reconvened after fifteen minutes in Executive Session.
Castillon noted that all of the interviewed candidates were excellent and that narrowing the field was a very tough decision. Castillon said that the Council was able to narrow the search to two candidates.
At this point, Castillon said that once an offer has been made to one of the two candidates, is accepted by the candidate and a background check conducted, then the name of the chosen candidate will be released to the public.
