Barbara Loucks, age 58, of Green River was arrested on 8/8/12 at 9:20 pm at the Smith’s Store parking lot for Driving While Intoxicated. Officers were dispatched to the Smith’s Store for a report of a traffic crash in which a vehicle hit the building and the vehicle was on fire. Investigation at the scene showed Loucks had driven over the sidewalk, over the grass into the parking lot and then over a bench and the struck the building and caught on fire. Loucks was removed from the vehicle by witnesses at the scene. Loucks’ vehicle was a total loss and unknown damage to building at this time. Loucks was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel and she was taken into custody and transported to jail. A breath test showed her blood alcohol concentration at more than double the legal limit.
Officers responded to a disturbance complaint on Wilkes Drive on 8/8/12 at 09:35 am. Officers contacted Shamra Zancanella and learned there was an outstanding arrest warrant for her out of Circuit Court for Failure to Pay Fines on the original charge of No insurance. Zancanella was taken into custody and transported to jail without incident.
Jonathan Pharr, age 22, of Green River was arrested on 8/8/12 at 7:41 pm on Trona Drive. Officers responded with Animal Control Officers to a report of a contained snake. Farr was contacted and dispatch advised of an outstanding arrest warrant for Pharr.
Officers investigated over a dozen reports of Auto Burglary and Criminal Entry of Vehicles throughout the city yesterday. Several firearms and other property were reported stolen. All the vehicles were unlocked when the thieves made entry. The Green River Police request our citizens to remove any valuables, especially firearms from your vehicles and to lock your vehicles when not occupied, even at your residence. Justin I Nelson, age 20, of Green River was arrested on 8/8/12 at 07:00 am on Colorado Drive for Domestic Battery. Nelson was contacted at the request of officers of the Rock Springs PD for a domestic battery that occurred in that jurisdiction. Nelson was taken into custody and transported to jail.
Officers investigated a report of Domestic Battery that occurred on E Teton Blvd the previous weekend. The victim stated her husband was drinking and became verbally and then physically abusive towards her. A report was forwarded to the County Attorney’s office for review.
Officers investigated a Hit and Run crash at the Railroad Depot parking lot when an unknown vehicle struck and damaged a decorative light pole at that location. Damage to the pole was estimated at approximately $2000.
Officers took a crash report on Colorado Drive when a pickup truck driven by Justin Nelson struck a garage door at 2240 Colorado Drive causing $2000 in damages to the door.
Officers investigated a report of a Hit and Run crash at the Stratton Meyer Park parking area when an unknown vehicle struck a parked black Chevrolet Avalanche owned by Tara Smith. Damage to the Smith vehicle was estimated at under $1000. Anyone with information please call the GRPD at 872-0555.
Animal Control Officers responded to a report of a bat in a seed spreader on Montana Way; a brown bat was impounded.
Officers assisted ambulance personnel on W 3rd N with an 11 year old female having difficulty breathing.
