October 12,2012

Officers responded to the 200 block of Monroe to investigate a report of Malicious Mischief. An office door was found damaged. The investigation is continued.

Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Jensen to a report of harassment.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel at Washington Elementary School where a student was found unconscious. The student was turned over to her parents who were seeking further medical evaluation.

Officers were dispatched to 1800 block of E. Teton to a parking complaint. The owner of the boat and trailer which was the source of the complaint was advised of the city’s parking ordinance and moved the boat.

Officers investigated an anonymous report of a trailer parked near the intersection of N. 5 W. and W. Railroad. The trailer owner was contacted and the trailer was moved.

Officers responded to a juvenile problem on S. 2 E.

Officers administered a drug test to a probationer at the office of Wyoming Department of Probation and Parole on Commerce Dr.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel at a residence on Birch St. where an elderly female fell on her steps. The patient was transported by ambulance to the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County for evaluation.

Officers investigated a three vehicle crash on Hitching Post at Iowa Ave. A 1986 Oldsmobile driven by a 16 year old female was traveling north on Hitching Post and failed to stop before colliding with 2006 Ford Fusion driven by a 17 year old male who had come to a stop behind 1999 Pontiac Bonneville driven by another 17 year old male, who had stopped for a school bus which was unloading students on Hitching Post. The force of the initial crash between the Oldsmobile and Ford Fusion pushed the Ford Fusion into the Pontiac Bonneville. All three vehicles sustained damages, but no one was injured in the crash. The 16 year old female was issued a citation for following too closely.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on N. 4 E. for a welfare check after a parent found disturbing messages on Facebook posted by their child.

Anthony Hall 18 years old of Green River was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant from Sweetwater County Circuit Court after officers observed Hall at Wolves Stadium. The warrant was for Probation Revocation for the original charge of Possession of Controlled Substance.

Hall was transported to the Sweetwater County Detention Center where he was booked into jail without incident.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on the 1400 block of Bridger Dr. Once on scene the reported victim was uncooperative with officers and no report was taken.

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Crossbow to a reported theft of mail. The investigation is ongoing.


October 13, 2012

Officers were dispatched to an anonymous report of barking dogs at a residence on Birch St. The officers found the neighborhood was quiet upon their arrival.

Officers took a stolen bicycle report near Wolves Stadium on Monroe Ave. The bicycle was later recovered by the victim.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Arizona to a dog at large. A brown and white Border Collie was impounded.

Officers were dispatched to Club 86 parking lot on Uinta Dr. to a reported hit and run. The owner of a white 2001 Saturn left his car parked in the parking lot on the north side of Club 86 over the night of 10/12/12 and found damage to his front bumper when he returned to his car the next day. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to call the Green River Police Department at 872-0555.

Officers were dispatched to a residence at 1400 block of Bridger Dr. to a report of a 49 year old female who was unconscious, but breathing. The patient regained consciousness and refused medical transport.

Officers responded to a residence on the 700 block of Shoshone to a report of a puppy having bitten a child at the residence. The child received minor injuries and the puppy was current on its vaccinations, so the puppy was not impounded.

Officers conducted a civil standby on the 2200 block of Cumorah Way.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. 2 N. to a second hand report of a domestic dispute. A friend received a text message from a friend to call the police. After Officers were in route to the residence, the party text messaged the friend to not call the police, stating she just wanted to go to sleep. Officers arrived on scene and found a darkened residence and was unable to get anyone to answer the door. Officers checked the residence and found it completely darkened and no sounds coming from inside. Officers left after repeated attempts to contact anyone inside.


October 14, 2012

Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Mountain View Dr. to a report of suspicious activity. A parent was concerned over suspicious text messages her teenage daughter received from a male subject claiming to be in Michigan. The Green River Police Department recommends to parents to talk with their children about communicating with strangers online and through text messages and to not to agree to meet with strangers from online chat sites and to report suspicious communications to the police immediately.

Animal Control Officers were dispatched to Clark and Astle streets to a report of a dog at large. A Boston Terrier was impounded.

Officers investigated a report of a loud vehicle on N. Wagonwheel St. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and issued a warning.

Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Wilkes Dr. to a report of child abuse. The officers made contact with the parent and child and the report was unfounded.

Officers responded to the area of Roosevelt Park to a report of a subject with a handgun. Officers arrived on scene and could not locate the subject.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Kansas St. to a report of a juvenile problem.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Bridger Dr. and W. Teton Blvd. to a report of an intoxicated female walking into traffic. Officers were unable to locate the female.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Apache Tr. to a report of a dog at large. The dog was returned to the owner.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a dog bite at a residence on the 700 block of Schultz. The dog bite was minor and the owner had proof of current vaccinations.

At about 1811 hours officers were dispatched to a car versus motorcycle accident at Bridger Dr. and W. Teton Blvd. The driver of the motorcycle, Michael Wilder 57 years old of Green River was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car involved was a minor and uninjured in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to an animal problem at the 1400 block of Bridger Dr. The people involved were advised.

Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Crossbow after screams were heard in the area. Officers found the neighborhood quiet on their arrival.

Officers were dispatched to a business on W. Flaming Gorge to a reported burglar alarm. The business was secure and was an apparent false alarm.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Trail Dr. for a welfare check.

Officers conducted a civil standby on W. Teton.
