Bert Barney, age 30, of Green River, was arrested on 1/17/13 at 12:29 am, on E Flaming Gorge Way for having Control of a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana. Officers responded to the Flaming Gorge Loaf and Jug when an employee advised there was a male subject passed out in his vehicle in the parking lot. Officers contacted Barney and subsequent investigation showed he was intoxicated and in possession of marijuana. Barney refused to take a breath test and a search warrant was secured for his blood. Barney was taken to the hospital and a blood sample was taken per the search warrant; Barney was then taken to jail.

Officers investigated a crash on E 4th S when a vehicle driven by Carol Lowell struck a vehicle driven by Mendi Maes. No injuries were reported, damage to the Maes’ vehicle was estimated at over $1000 and under $1000 to the Lowell vehicle. Lowell was cited for Failure to Yield.

Officers investigated a crash on W 2nd N when a tractor and trailer owned by Ron’s Ace Rentals rolled into a parked car owned by Olga Webb. No injuries were reported and damage to the Webb’s car was estimated at over $1000. Damage to the tractor and trailer was undetermined. A street sign and fire hydrant were also damaged.

A Fraud report was taken on Nolan Street when the victim advised someone used her credit card to purchase items she did not authorize. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers assisted ambulance personnel on Evans Street with a 60 year old male who was having difficulty breathing and was nauseated.
