1. How do I get a copy of an accident report?

Anyone requesting a copy of a crime report or accident report should fill out the request form and submit the request for review. Requests for information submitted will be reviewed by a Records Clerk and the requestee will be contacted to complete the request. Payment is required prior to receipt of information.

Please note, not all information may be released per federal and state guidelines. Please provide as much information as possible regarding the incident for which the information is being requested when completing the Report Request Form (e.g., date(s), location(s), name(s) of the person(s) involved, etc.). This information will allow us to locate the requested information much more quickly. Anonymous requests will not be processed.

Additional Information and Tips

• Crime reports will be released with City Attorney or County Attorney approval only, and the process for obtaining this approval may take extra time.
• Please allow five to seven working days from time of the incident before requesting a report
• Reports will be released only after receipt of payment.
• Wyoming traffic accident reports may be released to any person or owner involved in the accident or an authorized agent

• Accident reports - $3.00 for up to 10 pages*
• Crime Reports - $5.00 for up to 10 pages*

2. How do I get a VIN inspection?

If you have purchased a vehicle out-of-state you will need to have a Vehicle Identification Number Inspection done.

Please call dispatch at 307-875-1400 to have an officer conduct a VIN inspection on your vehicle.

Please have a copy of the title, sales paperwork, or insurance card with the VIN number on it, so it can be verified.

3. How do I get my fingerprints taken?

Fingerprints services at the GRPD are done Tuesdays 10:00 am -1:00 pm and Thursdays 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, or by appointment, excluding holidays. Please bring a photo ID and the fee for this service is $5.00.

4. How do I get a shoulder patch?

We have department patches that can be sent to you upon request. Individuals requesting a City of Green River Police Department shoulder patch need to send a self-addressed stamped envelope and $3.00 to the Green River Police Department. The $3.00 fee goes towards the patch program, so we can continue to have these patches available. 5. How can I do a Ride Along with a GRPD Officer?

Ride along’ s are offered to individuals who are over 18-years-old, and are seeking a career in law enforcement or are interested in the field of criminal justice. To schedule a ride along you must complete the required form and return it to the Police Department for review. Individuals who apply are subject to a background check.
