The Community Development Department facilitates the construction of buildings and developments within the City and ensures compliance with zoning and subdivision ordinances and building codes. Our Department consists of the following four divisions.

Building Division
The Building Division ensures residential, commercial, and industrial buildings are constructed safely and to a high standard.

Geographic Information Systems Division
The GIS Division's goal is to make geographic information readily accessible to City staff and the public.

Main Street Division
The Main Street Division strives to enhance our heritage and economy by creating a better place to live, work, shop, and play in the heart of our community through the revitalization of the historic downtown.

Planning & Zoning Division
The Planning and Zoning Division reviews designs and plans for compliance with the zoning ordinance, considers zone change and special use permit applications, and makes appropriate recommendations to the Green River City Council.
