Ted Barney is a lifelong resident of Green River. After graduating from Green River High School, Ted attended college at Utah State University, Yellowstone Baptist College and Grand Canyon University always returning home during the summers to work for the Laborer's Union in construction, maintenance and pipeline projects. He received his Bachelor of Science in 1985 with a major in Psychology and a minor in History. In 1987 Ted joined the United States Army where he spent the next nine years as a human intelligence collector stationed in both Europe and Asia. When he left the military in 1996 he was a Department of Defense qualified linguist in Polish, Russian, Czech, Ukranian, Serbo-Croatian and Thai. Ted returned to his home town of Green River and since 2000 has worked as an Investigator for the State of Wyoming within the Public Defender's Office, 3rd Judicial District which incorporates Sweetwater, Uinta and Lincoln Counties. Ted is passionate about the future of Green River and its economic development and enjoys serving his neighbors. Ted's philosophy is local representation with a global perspective.
